  1. hello i made vip groups but now i want to add something that if they are in it, that there is a diffrent collor in their tag how to set this up

  2. On Rcon I get all chat going thur Console and not the chat tabs. Im think it is because of Betterchat. Is there any way to fix it where Chat msgs come thur the RCON Chat tab and not Console

  3. So I type this in the running batchfile like the "ownerid "mysteamid64" "name" "reason"
    But there is already a command called "moderatorid" so what do I need to type to add users to my BetterChat groups?

    I have made 3 groups with BetterChat:
    - Moderator
    - Admin
    - Owner

  4. Moderator automatically includes all players with autlevel 1
    Admin automatically includes all players with authlevel 2
    and default automatically includes all players no matter the authlevel.

    For adding people manually to groups, make use of the /chat comand.

  5. Well, the thing is that I have made 3 groups with BetterChat as I mentioned, (Owner, Admin and Moderator). But if the default group has authlevel 0, the Moderator group has authlevel 1 and the Admin group has authlevel 2, what authlevel does the Owner group I made then have?
    Is the moderatorid and the ownerid associated with the BetterChat groups I made?
    I have granted different permissions to the BetterChat groups that I made, but when I tried to add my friend while he was playing on my server it said that the groups didnt exist or that there was no groups with those names. I only tried to add him to the BetterChat groups via the ingame chat. Do I perhaps need to type the command elsewhere? Any ideas?!

  6. ownerid = authlevel 2
    moderatorid = autlevel 1

    Only those two authlevels exist in Rust and those are automatically added to their groups as said above.

    Your custom group "owner" does not get anybody automatically added and you'll have to do that manually.

  7. Okay, but do I need to set authlevel to the different groups, and whats the difference between moderatorid and ownerid? Like what happens if I grant another user the ownerid command? Will he then be able to change the plugins and stuff? And what about the permissions I granted the custom groups that I made?

    I still wonder how to add someone to a BetterChat group because doing it via the ingame chat does not work for me apparently.

  8. Well - can anybody please tell me, how i can prevent admins/mods to be in default group after every log on?

  9. You cant but if you set the Priority and HiddenIfNotPrimary = true you will not be shown in the default group

  10. Well, the prioratiy of default must be 2, admin must be 1 then, right?

  11. admin is 0
    mod is 1
    default is 2

    and say you have ten groups
    admin = 0
    mod is 1
    group 3 = 2
    group 4 = 3
    group 5 = 4
    group 6 = 5
    group 7 = 6
    group 8 = 7
    group 9 = 8
    default = 9

  12. That worked, thanks so much :)

  13. Can anyone send me there .json file with Staff and member groups?

  14. I can make you one if you want just tell me all group names you want in it

  15. Ok, i want Owner, Admin, Mod, And Player. Colour is whatever

  16. No you don't have to set authlevels for groups. As I said those authlevels are automatically applied to those two groups by oxide itself.
    Most plugins nowadays should be using permissions which means that you have to have a permission to run something, though as ownerid you can give yourself permissions. I recommend not giving out authlevels to others you don't know well at all.

    The permission and group system is provided by oxide and not by BetterChat.

    If you have problems using the /chat command, please give me detailed information about your issue.

  17. Alright I start my server and check what it says.

    I just want different groups and certain permissions to each of them, so that a user on the server just can ask for an admin or moderator etc.

    What exactly does the authlevels and the moderatorid/ownerid commands do?

  18. That is unrelated to BetterChat. As said, the permission system is provided by oxide.

  19. Okay but can you grant permissions to custom groups made by BetterChat?
    [DOUBLEPOST=1495459950][/DOUBLEPOST]Because I have been thinking of having a system where you pay for the ranks or something, but if strangers buy a rank I dont want them to have access to all commands. I wanna be the only one who has access to all commands and I wanna be the one to set the permissions for other users/groups.

    Oh I think I get it now! By reading this post by Wulf
    Using the Oxide permission system | Oxide
    I haven't made a group with the oxide permission system only with your plugin and the "/chat group add" command. So I can make groups with the oxide permission system and add certain users and permissions, and then make groups with BetterChat so people have a rank before their name incase a normal user asks/is looking for and admin, moderator etc, am I right? If this is the case, then I don't really think there's much more to discuss, maybe I will have some more question but that remains to be seen.
