1. I was talking about when you first put the game up you need to run that command to add yourself to the admin group

The command is only needed for adding a user to a group if they don't already have it, but the user in question did have auth level 2 already, so he'd just need to logout and back in and he'd be in the group. In general though, if you have owner or moderator (auth level 1 or 2), then you'll automatically be placed in the correct Oxide permission group as described previously, so there isn't any need to worry about the group unless you don't have those.

It won't hurt to use the command to add yourself to the group manually, but it won't grant you any permissions unless the group has setup those already. Telling users to run it though is just an extra step that they don't really need, especially since they already have to logout/login once for their auth level to kick in fully after adding themselves as owner/moderator.

Admin steps: Run console command 'ownerid steamid' > logout > login > auth level and Oxide group now set. No need for additional commands. ;)

  3. I did not read to far back I thought he was trying to add his char to the admin group for the first time

It was the post you quoted, but no, he was trying to figure out why plugin commands weren't working for him from what I can tell.

Anyways, we can wait for him to reply now. ;)

Remove < and >, those aren't part of the command.
    Code:
    ownerid 76561198178118450 "AST56"
Don't worry about the config, you're working with the console command. Use what you gave me without the < and >, then use server.writecfg.

  12. Thanks!! it worked
[DOUBLEPOST=1447286492,1447215815][/DOUBLEPOST]Can you only have 1 owner on a server. I made myself an admin and I made some friends moderators, but they can't make kits or give themselves items.

  13. You can have as many admins as you want

There is no difference between owner/mod auth levels in Rust. If they have either or both, they will have the same control as you.

  15. So i've used Wulf's Tutorial, it said i successfully became a owner with "ownerid ID Name"

When i'm trying to use ingame commands like /kit add it spesifically says i don't have the permission to do that command. I've been trying to search trough the files in FTP in hope to add myself manually. Googled around and find no answers to resolve this issue. Could anyone lend a hand?

  16. After you did ownerid "ID Name" did you write config.writecfg I believe it is, then rejoin the server?
