Thanks Reneb for earlier.
Vears it simply extracts to the gameserver folder. You should see the main game exe as well "RustDedicated.exe" with the folder "RustDedicated_Data".
Looks like another update released, time to test agains![]()

Files seems to be the same, don't know what they changed ...
but just in case i made another build of the current version.
[DOUBLEPOST=1416670048][/DOUBLEPOST]oxide files are not the server files ... you need to add them in the server files as it's described in
Setting up your own Experimental Rust server with Oxide 2 -
So I'm having a problem where when I launch the bat file it just stay's black and doesn't change what so ever.. However when I try to exit the server using just regularly I can always hear my fans kicking up and I have to end it through the task manager. I checked my log.log and this is what I have going on:

2 possibilities:
1) you dont have your rust server updated
2) you are not using the build that i pût just before this post -
Code:
NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at Oxide.Lua.LuaExtension.LoadPluginWatchers (System.String plugindir) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Oxide.Core.OxideMod.Load () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Oxide.Core.Interface.Initialise () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Bootstrap.Initialization () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Bootstrap+<Start>c__Iterator0.MoveNext () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0(Filename: Line: -1)

After I updated my server, hosted from Gameservers. I noticed non of my oxide 2 plugins are working. I updated the plugins but it still doesn't work. When I went to reinstall the oxide 2 b29 Mod from Gameservers control panel. I noticed gameservers had removed that mod. When I opened up a support ticket. Gameservers informed me that now the mod causes players to be kicked upon joining so the mod has been removed until a updated version is released. Is there a work around or a updated mod file I can link to them to install?

Gameservers are pissing me off to.

But its not just modded servers I talked to the owners on the vanilla servers and they get server freezes on players over 100-125 just like I do on the moded server.
I cannot run over 80 player server without the server freezing and I tried this on all my servers including my dedicated I even have one on a new host and had to bring it down from 100 to 65 players...
Its rust and its to unstable to run over 75 player servers ...
It freezes then boots all the players then I have to reboot the servers when this happens or it does this in cycles every 10-15 minutes..
I am so frustrated..... I have no use running a server set to 100-200 players if I cant host over 65 players...
and on top of that gameservers make it even worse waiting for their fat asses to get around to updating your servers and on top of that taking away your full ftp access!
so yeah many players are leaving rust for other games and are frustrated and I am frustrated to see my servers surge to over 100 players then they are all dumped and watch my servers emptied...Last edited by a moderator: Nov 22, 2014 -
Well i know Someone that has à 128giga ram server with ... Well lets say his server is à monster ...
And when he gets more then 50players total (on his 4 rust server, so like 10-20-10-10, etc) he gets lags and mass kicks ...
So i dont think it's server providers problem, but just rust that fucked something up with Last update. -
no its rust! and its to unstable. to run over 50 player servers...

I think it will take 2 or 3 months till they publish a stable version of rust

hello, i had posted on a different topic about a problem and was answered by the loveley "Reneb" so thanks to him or her
however i thereafter encountered two more problems and posted on the same post but have now decided to move it to here for hope of more people seing this post + these problems have nothing to do with the other post
anyway, i had a dedicated server set up two days ago and yesterday/today got it working however as stated i have run into two problems one of them being game breaking.
1.
Edit:"I have confirmed that this is not a oxide problem if anything the save plugin should help but does not.
Long story short, both vanilla and oxide with save plugin does not actually save anything placed once the server is shut down,
i can disconnect then reconnect and everything is still there,
but as soon as the server is closed everything is lost :c really hope someone can help me"
oh jeez : c sorry again cause ive got one more problem, although i strongly believe this will be the last one,
is it normal that each time i restart my server my character has apparently died, sleeping bag either does not save or is destroyed resulting in me having to respawn in a random location every time i join after server restart?
atm this is a game breaking problem for me cause i cant loose all progress every time i close the server
just confirmed it, on server restart everything, sleeping bags, crates, anything placed by me is removed
2.
so uhm.. sorry for being such a noobie at server stuff and i hope you can help : )
my server works fine, but i have not the slightest idea of how to get other people to join,
i know that the tutorial said use "my ip" but does that mean my local ip address or what cause i thought people have to be on the same network to join the local ip : /
i use client.connect 127.0.0.1:28015 to connect to my server but don't think that will work for others
3.
not really a problem but could mabe be connected to my other problem
my server console outputs "Unsupported encoding: 'utf8' " on startup and every now and then. absolutley no idea what this means but puting it out there just in case : ) -
For 1, you need to add a load to the command line to load your save. -load "server/<server identity>/save/0.sav"
For 2, you need them to connect to your ip (check http://www.whatismyip.com/), make sure the port is opened on your router.
For 3, that's an issue with the rust server and can be ignored. -
Yeah I think the update was to fix the storage box issue where it would show a box occupied even after the player closed the inventory. But it could have been more as well
-
I did see your post above. But as stated above also, Gameservers gives us limited ftp access. They tell us to link them to the mod.
http://oxidemod.org/downloads/oxide-2-for-rust-experimental.714/
Then after reading from the gameservers forums. They inform us that the mod has been removed until a a stable version for build 1159 is released.
http://forums.gameservers.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=51456
Update, Someone on gameservers installed that temp file for me. Now oxide is working -
well thank you so much for the answers,
fixed the nr.1 issue, took a lot of trial and error but now it saves and loads everything properly : )
in-case someone wants to know exactly how i will explain : p cause i know the feeling when i finally find someone with a similar problem but they just say "ive fixed it nvm" hate those moments xd
anyway
fix for server not saving items, inventories, buildings, props etc
when my save plugin manually saves files it saves to Procedural Map_<Map Seed>
however the servers auto save saves to Procedural Map_<Size>_<Map Seed>
so when i used -load "C:\my_rust_server\server\FirstServeryay\save\Procedural Map_<Map Seed>/0.sav" it would set me at my previous spawn point but however would still wipe all inventories, props, buildings etc
however when i used -load "C:\my_rust_server\server\FirstServeryay\save\Procedural Map_<Size>_<Map Seed>/0.sav" this then worked for me, loaded me at my sleeping bag and with my inventory so yay! thank you for the help : )
and thanks for nr.2 did not actually think of that ; p though cant test it out now cause mostly everyone i know has gone to bed ^^ (1:14 in the morning here right now)
and as for nr.3 im happy it wont be a problem : )
and lastly this forum seems like a very friendly and helpful one so thank you so much <3 : ) -

Thank you guys!
