then you didn't update your rust server.
incompatible versions are not sent because of oxide files (or edited oxide files) but for resource files that are not the same.
so i'm 100% sure you didn't update your server. (other one might be, but not this one)

I've just deleted the server folder, redownloaded from steamcmd and copied your files: Incompatible version. -

Yes, folder and stuff moved ... /rust_dedicated/RustDedicated.exe instead of /Release/RustDedicated.exe.

I've gotten to the "force_install_dir <path>" part. I'm not experienced, so I of course typed in "force_install_dir <path>" and nothing happened..

there will be no "OK!" message after setting the part, after doing app_update the application will be in the directory you set with "force_install_dir <path>" -
