how do i paste my fortify buildong on a rust copy paste server

 

Like said many times above in this support thread, save your building as copy-paste (not blue menu but red menu). Then unload on your server CopyPaste, upload to copypaste foler (under data folder) your saved building trough Fortify (it will end as a *.json), load CopyPaste and viola the you just need like with other buildings /paste NAME optionalptions

 

Hello, guys.
I playing on classic "clean" servers w/o mods etc and usually I play alone. Could someone check my first build?
I made about half of work in Fortify, then pasted my work to my local RUST server, finished job and exported my house back to fortify for backup purposes and to show/share it.

I tryed to protect all layers (there are 3 floors with the roof). First floor have 2 doors to enter the house and they are symmetrical. Inside first floor there are 5 doors to reach center of the building. There are 2 Y-bases not filled with floor and where sleeping bags are placed - I attach ladders - it's an only entrance to 2nd floor. 2nd floor is main. There are 6 furnaces, and "treasure room" with 3 shelves - each with 3 large boxes (9 totally). 3rd floor made only for protection from raiders that usually come from the roof. All walls utilise double or Y structure mostly filled with metal barricades.
According to my calcutations all 3 possible ways to break in are about equivalent. I mean - breaking from first floor - at least 5 doors + 2 doors to get in treasure room. Forcing the second floor (3+ raiders) will require breaking outer wall, metal barricade and inner wall + only 1 man can pass in if 2 people will bring him there. Also it's the simplest way/calculation, because the treasure room are opens from the second floor only from one side of the house. And finally breaking from the roof will require to break a lot of Y triangles in the center, break the metal barricade/s and break then the floor to the 2nd floor. Raiders will not feel where they need to make their way and as with breaking the 2nd floor from street - they need some luck to break in into treasure room directly.

I'll greatly appreciate any feedback. The only sad thing is that metal barricades require now components - 3 blades per 1 barricade.

I'm slowly working towards adding steam workshop functionality, that should be pretty dope.

 

OMG can someone please tell me how to "...load [a] .json file that [is] configured to work with the Copy-Paste oxide plugin...."????

I have a server from clanforge so i don't actually have a folder to put my .json files into but the plugin is on my server. is there still a way to import base designs from fortify into rust?

 

That's the only way I know, they should have a way to accommodate that.

 

yes i contacted my server host and he said i don't have access to the data file but he would put them in....i uploaded them to him and it works thanks!

i don't understand how when I click "rust-copypaste" on fortify it saves as a text document in the save location. What do I do from there? I tried adding ".json" to end of the file/ editing the file to read all files. I typed in every possible "/paste example_base". Every time I get the error. "file does no exist" when its located in my -"my server" >rustds>oxide>data>copypaste. Is it something so simple I am forgetting to do?

 

Export it from fortify as a .json

 

It should already have the .json extension. Check the file data, it will look very different from a normal fortify save.

 

It worked. I guess I am just confused by the layout of fortify. Thanks for the quick reply from you and the guy who posted before you.
