1. I did that and when I drag the oxide folder over to the server stuff it says unable to replace Managed so I hit continue and it just keeps saying Try Again, Skip or Cancel

Generally that means you have RustDedicated.exe running in the background, so the files are in use and can't be overwritten. You'd need to close the server first using Task Manager.

  3. I saw that it ended up having RustDedicated.exe running. Let me try again.

I think I have to remake my server over again completely meaning lose the world I have already....I had to do this the other day because the server refused to run at all

I've tried installing oxide multiple times and I can't reinstall the server without wiping it completely can I?
[DOUBLEPOST=1454028840][/DOUBLEPOST]Well it was fun running a server while I could...I give up because I'm all out of ideas on how to fix this without completely remaking the server again

  4. So since the update my server now just doesn't launch, the bat doesn't show anything unless I terminate the rustdedicated.exe in task manager and then it says restarting...

Please re-download and re-install the latest Oxide release. You are using an broken Oxide release.

  6. Mine shows my bat stuff and just sits there. I've been trying to make it work for the past hour and idk how to fix it other than wiping my server which I don't wanna do and nobody will help me. I even deleted all the oxide files and that won't work.

Check your RustDedicated_Data/output_log.txt for errors. I'm pretty sure you're still using an outdated Oxide build. There are only 3 reports of it now working, the rest were using old builds.

  8. Even running vanilla it won't work. Is there a way to remake my server but have it load the save I have to it?

Delete your steamapps folder, and run the SteamCMD updater again.

  10. But will I lose the save I have currently on the server or can I save it elsewhere and use it again?

The steamapps folder is just a temp storage location for the SteamCMD program. It's a cache that stores update info, it will not affect your saves.

  12. Okay...well I deleted the steamapps folder that was within the standard SteamCMD folder which included Rust_Dedicated but I made a backup of my server saves and server batch

Mmm, it may actually store under there then if you don't change the path. In that case, just delete the files/folders shown below:

  14. Alright, well let me see if deleted the whole folder as you said before works. I did that and out the server batch and server folder where it needed to go and so far it seems good

Got it working so far :) thanks! Sorry for being such a pain in the rear :p

No problem, it was a rough update.

  16. Yeah I can tell, I saw a few people had issues. Hopefully it's not like this every update :) at least I got through the first update for my server! :D

  17. where can I get the latest Oxide update, I cant seem to find it. I have 2.0.1740 and it will not work with the new Rust update.

    Thanks

The Downloads page has it, as well as our snapshots repo.

It's a rarity, and was mostly caused by SteamCMD erroring when I went to pull the latest Rust commits down.

  19. Thank You Wulf!

    All is fine now!

  20. @Wolf Why do i have no permission to view and download the latest Oxide 2 for Rust? Did i miss something? And where do i get the latest version now? Please help me Wolf.
