Adding Oxide 2 to the server
Download the latest Oxide 2 build that is compatible with your server version first. Once you've downloaded the latest build, extract it to the folder where RustDedicated.exe is located and overwrite when prompted. This will add the required Oxide 2 files and the modified Rust files which will load Oxide 2.

  3. What did i wrong? i downloaded oxide 2 and moved it to my server folder (overwrote existing files), than i started the server, joined them, stopped the server again, looked for the plugins folder in my server folder, but there is none, created one by my own, moved my plugins there and started the server again. no changes on the server.

Are you running SteamCMD when starting the server? Oxide is a mod, so it needs to be installed after any updates. You can check if it is running either by using the 'oxide.version' console command, or looking in the bottom right corner of the server console if you have access to it.

  5. oxide.version says invalid command.

I have a windows 2012 rootserver, just downloaded the Rust_server.zip from developers website and i start my server with that Run_DS.bat whats in there. :/ seems that i do it too simple, maybe too nooby? :D

The Rust server is provided via Steam using SteamCMD, not as a zip. The steps are provided in this thread. If 'oxide.version' is an invalid command though, then Oxide was not installed successfully. Make sure the server is fully shutdown when installing Oxide, and you are using the official Rust server.

  7. Oh, okay than i have to try the steamcmd method. Here's a link where i have my server from. http://playrust.com/dedicated-server/
As a "Vanilla" server it works...

Right, that's just SteamCMD which is fine, but the .bat scripts that are included with it run the update each time you run them, which is uninstalling Oxide. Use the _start-example.bat that is include with Oxide instead.

  9. okay, i am trying it in a few minutes. Is there any trouble with my server identity folder? mine is labled my_server and not my_server_identity. So since i moved oxide 2 in my file i have now 2 folders. my_server, wich is mine with all data and one new my_server_identity which basicly set up all files fresh about 6kb size.

should i rename it in my batch commands?

Second question: If Facepunch runs an update like 7th January and my server is processing an update... is this update uninstalling oxide? so i have to download and move it again to my files?

The server identity doesn't matter. The name of the batch file doesn't matter, you just can't run an update without uninstalling Oxide. Updates should on't be checked for when a Rust update is released. Doing any update will uninstall Oxide, as it is a mod.

How long did you wait? Also, please upload your RustDedicated_Data/output_log.txt.

  12. Im waiting for like 15 minutes now, and here is my log.txt
    I used the @echo off
    RustDedicated.exe -batchmode +server.port 28015 +rcon.port 28016 +rcon.ip 0.0.0.0 +rcon.password "changeme"
To start the oxide bat, just to point it out, the normal version is working perfectly

You don't have Oxide fully installed. When installing Oxide, make sure to overwrite ALL files when prompted using the ones from the zip.

  14. Ok, sorry for this dumb problem , and thank you very much :)

No problem, let me know if you still have issues after re-installing.

You'd update the same way you install it, but there hasn't been any update for Rust today yet.
