Same problem here, if people press m, it takes a few seconds and it causes everyone to lag.

Hey,
i get this error: [LustyMap] Your map is still being generated. Checking again in 10 seconds -
Sounds like your running on a VM. If you have lag @ 30 players
I need to know if you are using a custom map or Beancan.io. Do you use the API? Have you tried resetting the map, reloading LustyMap? See this article:
HOW TO FIX YOUR LUSTYMAP:
OK - we're making some progress. Here's what I've done:
- Go into your Oxide folder and delete everything in Storage. (This took 2.5 hours to complete - 25k files and entries - depends on if dedicated server or VM)
- I completely uninstalled LustyMap.cs, LustyMap.json, and ALL LustyMap data in the Data folder. Make sure nothing related to LustyMap is anywhere on the server.
- Restart the Server
- Reinstalled the Lustymap.cs in Oxide > Plugins.
- Input your Beancan.io API ID into your LustyMap.json in the Oxide > Config file. Save and transfer back to server.
- Allow RUST time to download the auto-generated LustyMap.json (3-5 minutes)
- When finished, type out, "resetmap" in RUSTY or the console to force an image deletion and re-download. (another 3-5 minutes)
- Wait for RUSTY to tell you that everything was downloaded.
- Type into RUSTY "oxide.reload LustyMap"
- Disconnect and reconnect to server - now everything works!
- 4 hours later it's still working for everyone on the server.
Here's an image of what I did, where the files are, etc:
This fixed the issue for me - one of my players still says they see the black map... I'll update if I find anything else.
The one player I asked to relog and now he can see the map, himself, airdrops, debris, etc. -

Deleting this data folder doesn't affect anything with the server? Is this simply a cache? -
-
Ok, another way - go to your steam librery, right-click rust and choose properties.
Then, on the Local Files tab click on Browse local files. You'll be right in place -
do you NEED an API from beancan.io to be able to see the map and player positions like you see on playrust.io ?
The site seems broken, and they didn't even look at my post for my server and its been like 3 days. -
The answer is no. You don't NEED it, but if you don't use the API you will have to do a bunch of manual configurations and work. This thread, LustyMap for Rust | Oxide will tell you HOW to register for an API key, and or how to do it WITHOUT an API key.
Reading something isn't the same as comprehension - so if you have any further questions please let us know. -

Not doing all that, lol. I think it may be because I need to update Rust.io.
