Would lowering map size reduce lag?

If I change my server from 4000 to 2500 size, will it reduce the lag?

I'm on i7 7700, 16GB RAM and 2 mbp/s upload speed, maybe that's why when I reach over 12 players my server lags a bit, sometimes even alot, but does size can reduce it?

I set it to be 2500 not 4096, Is that a bug or something?

 

4096 is fairly big, you should use 3000-3500. Secondly your hardware is good but you are limited on your network. 2mbps = 250KB/s which is fairly low and will be the reason why you face lag issues. You will need a better network connection.

 

wait, you can change the size of hapis island? i thought it was a static map type?

 

Yeah, that too. I don't think the size can be modified.
