A good enough vps for a modded server that's going to have max 5 players?
And can I use Linux. And if I can what distribution do you recommend?

 

As long as you use a small map you're fine. Plenty of ram for mods and enough storage for files and logging. Any linux distro will be fine since most of them are almost identical. Both Centos and Debian are great for beginners.
