1. The "Grant" command no longer seems to work... could you not have a simple txt file with the names and/or ID's listed instead?

It does not really need any console commands and not the end of the world if you have to restart the server to add more people :)

What exactly isn't working about it? What did you try, what did it say?

  3. Hi, thanks for the reply,

When you type "grant user xxxx whitelist.allowed" you get the error "unknown command grant" from the console using rusty, even if you just type grant it says unknown command

That would mean Oxide isn't installed then. The 'grant' command comes from Oxide, not this plugin.

  5. I have other plugins installed and running, this is the only plugin I can't get to run

Are you putting a space before grant in RCON? The permissions commands should always be working when Oxide is installed.

  7. lol I did not have a space, if I type grant now on it's own all is good, if I type grant user namehere whitelist.allowed I get command not found... is there something else I am supposed to do..?

Are you sure it says "command not found" and not "permission not found"? The "permission not found" would mean you do not have a plugin loaded with the permission you are trying to set.

  9. here is a screen shot: Gyazo - be5b09788074fad00aa72a1e4a786b8b.png

I used your name as an example

The plugin is running if I try and connect it says "you are not whitelisted"

I have put a space before grant

here it is again with no further commands: Gyazo - 32c45b71010db5ea11447089857d122b.png

I am used to Minecraft plugins not Rust stuff...

What I have done so far..

Put plugin in plugin folder, started server typed above command... what am I doing wrong ?

  11. typed it manually

is there something I should be doing to tell it that whitelist.allowed is a command?

Does it save a list of whitelisted names anywhere?

I am on the latest build of Rust with the latest build of Oxide

EDIT: it seems to be anything after the word "Grant" causes the error, if you type grant user and send it it says command not found, if you type grant group it says command not found.

I can't reproduce that here, the 'grant' command works fine as it should without any issues on the latest release and latest snapshot. The command hasn't changed at all. Also, "whitelist.allowed" is not a command, it's a permission.

  13. It's strange, I have been trying for 2 days to try and get this plugin to work, unless I have missed something I have no idea, Oxide is running as your plugin and others are working, I just can't type grant xxxx <-- anything after the word grant causes "command not found" grant on it's own works...

    I am using Rusty 2.91

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense, and you seem to be the only one having the issue. :/

  15. So when I buy a Rust server for nitrous-networks.com how do I whitelist myself as I don't have a console and I can't join without whitelist...

RCON is the console you'd use.

  17. may sound kinda dumb but it's been a while since the last time I hosted a server. How do I log in to RCON?

Make sure you have rcon.password in your server's startup or server.cfg, then use a program such as Rusty or RustAdmin to connect to it. Many hosts also provide a web-based version.

  19. Rusty is much easier than the web based ones :)
