Thanks. I think the problem is determining where one should supply feedback. umod/oxidemod kinda bounces you back and fourth.

 

The API should be available again. Please notify me if any issues arise again.

It worked for a short time than the API failed again.

Can you try now, just force an update check with the 'updates' command please?

This says BetterChat, not UpdateChecker... or is the API the same on both?

 

BetterChat is just the plugin to be checked. You could also put DeathNotes or UpdateChecker in there.
Would you mind sending me a list of your plugins, optimally your plugins folder in a zip file per PM?

I asked for a zip as that's make it easier for me to test without having to download each single plugin manually. But it's alright, I'll check.

The problem seems to have been an issue with oxide, please try the latest oxide release.

It works 1 out of 2 force updates. Force the updates 4 times, and you'll get the API problem twice and the other 2 will work. Hope this helps a bit.
