i changed my host and bought dell r510.
specs:
Intel Xeon x5620 İşlemci 2.40
65 gb ddr3 ram
1gb port
5x300gb sas
i gave thos specs to my modded sercer
15 core
10 gb ram
300 gb sas
after fresh install with 75+ players i get 4fps after 1 hour runing
i have no error and warning logs
i will try to update the OS
any suggestion ?
@Foxxi
do u still experience lag ? -
Rust seems still to be using only one physical core, so that older cpu might be your bottleneck. -
I red this tread and I got exactly same problem fps 0-62 BUT I managed to do few things and now I got fps 258-262 !
1. Disable graphic acceleration ( I did this because my second screen was using processor integrated graphic, now both are connected to normal graphic card).
2. I set my virtual memory off from my SSD-Drive, (probably should have done this long time ago).
3. I disabled "indexing" from my SSD-Drive, which was strange because I remember that I have done it already! -

how can i do those steps ? i have never did so i dont know how to do it -
Well I have Windows 7 64 bit:
1. Graphic acceleration was done trough BIOS.
2. (Only if you have SSD)
Computer => Right click => Properties => Advanced System Settings => Advanced => Performance => Settings => Advanced => Virtual Memory => Change => No paging file => Set => (if message window appear press YES) => Restart Computer => Done!
3. (Only if you have SSD)
Computer => Right click your drives => Properties => General => at bottom "Allow files on this drive to have...." should be unchecked => Done! -
thanks but mine is w2008 -
1. just BIOS
2. Virtual memory w2008: Virtual memory setting in Windows server 2008 - IT Answers
(was exactly same as in win7)
3. Well, I have no Idea =D -
Servers don't have a graphics card next to the integrated one in most cases.
Everyone can use "fps.limit -1" or "fps.limit off", this only will work if there are not many players online, if you have a server with 100+ players and 300k entities you'll have around 60 - 150 fps, but it also depends on the cpu you're using.

#New answers may follow as i'm installing myself a Xeon L5520 which is almost equal to that xeon.
## That FPS may only apply if the core isn't fully in use, as soon as the server is filled with people and it's up to the top the fps may drop, i don't know how many players your cpu may hold as it's single thread performance is very low.
PassMark - CPU Performance Comparison
My advice would be trying the best with your current server, but if you have many players you'll should look after one with better single - thread performance to get the best result you can get.

### If he don't has a IMPI or KVM on his dedicated server it's most likely impossible to change the BIOS.
#### @DikkatDeli how does your CPU usage look like?Last edited by a moderator: Jan 23, 2016 -
i was using my dedicated server with esxi opening vds and installing servers on it. i called my DC and want to install OS W2008 on the main server. i am waiting them to finish it. i will try with my modded server freshly installed new dedicated server and will let you guy now it results.
if it doesnt work i have to change my server or provider.
thanks -
Probably completely irrelevant however I reproduced the low FPS by opening up Task Manager / Performance.
My system specs are Q6600 with 4GB and 40up10down network
Closing down Task Manager elevated the problem.
I don't have any issues regardless of player count with the above system spec. -

@DikkatDeli I had same issue! 2.0 ghz will kill you! I have 2.4 and I had max 200 FPS and wnt down to 20 at like 17 ppl now I have 4.4 ghz and 2k FPS with 100 people! Just get SSD + atleast 16gig ram + 15Gig SSD EZ FIX

How does fps in Rust even work? What are the cons of a server with low fps?
Whats the difference between a server with 100 on that has 200fps or a server with 100 on that has 2000 fps? -

"System Requirements
The Rust server can be taxing on your host but maybe not as much as you would think. As a baseline a 4 square km (default gen size) map freshly generated will run at close to 1 gigabyte of ram. After some stress testing and 144,000 entities later, the server uses about 1.8 gigabytes of memory. So I would suggest having at least 3 gigs allocated to it. For the most part the server will tend to fall apart and become unplayable by the time the server reaches 150,000 entities. This number shifts from time to time and has been as much as 200,000 entities at one point, but that was weeks ago."
Quote above from How to: Host your own Rust server
Currently running a 5k Map (515151) with around 36,000 entities. Server uptime running into weeks now - NO ISSUES! -
