Minstrel [Unmaintained]

mmm, are you trying to play files i posted or yours?

 

I trying to play your files.

 

/ms_rel filename (without ms-)
Then just /ms_tune filename

 

This unfortunately goes nothing!
on any command /ms /ms_tune etc ... there is no activity, as if the commands did not have any action.

are there any logs to see potential error?

 

try /ms_list

 

I already try this and it is the same result as the other command. nothingness ! :s

 

ehm... are you sure ms is loaded? and you have permission?

 

Attached a capture of logs which i think shows and proves is loaded. As regards of permissions i am administrator. Is there a specific permission to add to my account ? (oxide.grand user command_of_minstrel).

Sorry for all this i made me barely to oxide and its plugins.

 

Well done with this, pretty simple to use. Had some difficulty at first since I had to figure out how to add the song file name to the Minstrel.json file. For those that have difficulty, just post your song names in the Minstrel.json file as listed below:

"soiaf",
"memory"
]

Instructions:
-Open Minstrel.json file for edit in your server file manager.
-Add song file names to .json and save. (example above)
-All the song files will go into directory: Oxide>Data
-Reload plugin through Console System, Rusty, or RustAdmin programs per command listed below.
-Songs are ready to be played via your character or by NPCs (HumanNPC plugin).

Now this is only an example from the songs listed in the forum here. I'm pretty sure 4seti post this .json file too for download. To reload the Minstrel plugin through Oxide. (F1 Console System: type "oxide.reload Minstrel".


Again, great plugin.. adds a little flare to the game!

You don't need to edit anything!
Just use /ms_rel to add new songs!

 

Yeah, okay so you don't need to edit anything now. You did a few days ago when I downloaded it. lol
Just trying to help those out that aren't plugin developers or educated on what files should be where.

 

Songs->oxide/data, config->oxide/config
pretty easy

 

Agreed but not everyone has common sense and the plugin overview isn't very helpful in that regards hence the 4 pages of people having problems getting your plugin working correctly. But hey, who am I to tell you about your plugin or even help those out that are new to plugins completely.
Keep at it, you create good plugins!

Just a suggestion, maybe add better instructions on the Overview

how do you let your users on the server to be able to use the plugin also. i am having trouble with them being to able to type the /ms command

 

Has anyone managed to record the Imperial March? Or even a simple Jaws style melody.

 

no way for now.
Mass usage of Minstrel possible can cause some lags, also, players can simply "annoy" with that plugin

Sounds like cool pluggin, if i could get it working. Added some json's what i got of this thread, added them on server (i think), just not sure where they go as mentioned put them in oxide/data folder, where that is even if ive got one i dont know.

Bare in mind i rent a server from multiplay and using clanforge, so im not sure where the files is supposed to go. /: i just put it in the data section.
