You can disable certain messages already, by emptying the message array for that message. -

I have never had the need to use or give out the /deaths command as I have the results displayed in a pop-up. There was a point at which having that option set would make the plugin display on both chat and popup but after a week it sorted itself out and now only does popup as per config options.
Please keep the popup option *crosses fingers* -
I have never let Players use the /deaths command, and i haven't used it myself either.

I dont use the /deaths command either, My player do Like the full list of deaths as I have edited the messages to something amusing,

I disable animal reports on my servers although publishing record distances or distances over X would be cool.
I know I said this already - Just reiterating since you've asked. -
I found a lot of players use the kill animal as like a furthest shot kinda thing... I would say keep it
