  1. Its to difficult...the older versions works very good without that..

  2. You don't need to set them to false. Look at the overview. There is shown how to disable messages.
    [DOUBLEPOST=1453717112][/DOUBLEPOST]
You just need to give every group the permission:
    oxide.grant group player deathnotes.see
    oxide.grant group moderator deathnotes.see
    oxide.grant group admin deathnotes.see

Also the command is just there to disable the messages, they are enabled by default.

  4. I was using this in 2015 no probs. In 2016 I went to Kill Feed because none of the commands for this seemed to work. Kill Feed works like a dream.. And no need for a ANY commands. But it looks bad.
I prefer Death Notes IF and it's a big IF... I could get it to work.
I saw it has just been up-dated so I tried again... And still nothing shows up on the server, and I can't seem to get a single one of the commands to actually work!
It's almost beyond belief how such a great Plug-in has become this.... And on purpose. lol.
Can anyone please show me the exact command to make people see the Death Notices.
Let's say I have a Player named "BOB" How do I make BOB see Death Notices?

  5. Read the overview like many others do before posting

  6. I did... It didn't help. That was the point of the post.

  7. Then if you did why you asking for the commands when it is already on the overview

  8. As clearly stated in my first post... I can't get them to work.
Not sure if you are willing to help or what your motivation is here?

  9. Type here the commands you done to add the permissions to what groups you added them to

  10. Wow! That doesn't even make sense. It seems many people are having problems understanding what commands to use. And you idea of help is just as confusing.
This is a fantastic endorsement for KillFeed.
I will use KillFeed. Thankyou for....

  11. Was trying to help but you dont want it I see

  12. If you were trying to help you would have read the first post and replied with the commands to help poor old BOB....
The "help" you offered was a nonsensical ramble.
The command I have tried are many and varied in different places and are of no consequence, because they didn't work.
I'll leave the last word to you.

  13. Seriously guys it's not hard to read the overview and discern the required steps... But here you go!

    Permissions:
    • deathnotes.see needed for /showdeaths and for seeing the messages

    How to grant permissions:

Use following CONSOLE commands to grant permissions
    • grant user <player> <permission> grant permission to player
    • grant group <group> <permission> grant permission to group

    Commands:

    • /deathnotes show infos about the plugin
    • /showdeaths toggle if you see messages in chat (needs permission deathnotes.see)
    In other words

in console (rcon or f1 in game) type

    grant group players deathnotes.see

If your players are in a different group type that instead of "players"...

If you have a vip group type that group in the same command in addition to the player group...

The plugin works fine if you follow how to set it up... (Which is ONE step for each group!)

  14. Okay, I have worked this out. For anyone who needs help...
    Forget about what groups mean, and granting permissions etc. Just type exactly the below in the console;

    oxide.grant group player deathnotes.see
    oxide.grant group moderator deathnotes.see
    oxide.grant group admin deathnotes.see

    And it will work.
You can then changed the names of the animals etc. only after one of each animal has been killed. It only then creates the names in the config folder.
Hope that helps anyone needing it.

  15. I don't understand why you could not work out the info in the overview. I do help many, but I do try to let members try to work out things for themselves this way they learn and not expect everything to be done for them

  16. Because putting <group> and <player> made it look as if I should insert a player name or group name in between the <>
And it appears I was not the only one judging by the large number post's about getting this to work.
I understand what you're saying about people learning, but everything is easy if you know how. I believe instructions should be clear and concise. This is a great Plug-in that appears to be much harder to use than it is. Hope my next computer parts don't come with instructions expecting me to work things out for myself.

  17. When it says <group> and <player> then yes, you insert player name or the group name but without the <> yes, I agree the <> needs removed as it does confuse members but now you know how it works you won't make that mistake any more

  18. Well, that's the thing... I didn't put any of the Players names in.
    And it worked fine for everyone....I just put exactly this;

    oxide.grant group player deathnotes.see
    oxide.grant group moderator deathnotes.see
    oxide.grant group admin deathnotes.see

  19. Been using this plugin for a long time now. Now we have to give permissions for players to even see the death notes... wish you would undo this...

  20. Mate, I've just been trying to work this out, and did.

In the console I just typed the following one line at a time and Death Notice worked for everyone on the server with no permissions required. I didn't need Group or Player names. Just exactly as I put below. Let me know how it goes please?

    oxide.grant group player deathnotes.see
    oxide.grant group moderator deathnotes.see
    oxide.grant group admin deathnotes.see
