Having an issue assigning a chat group to an oxide group. anyone mind refreshing my memory?

 

i have a problem if i reconnect im every time in default group but im Admin. how can i change it ? that i have one 1 group . If i remove the default group and then relog its there again.

 

Have added yourself as authlevel 2? Betterchat should put you in the group corresponding to your authlevel.
if you havnt here is the following command you should execute in console:

ownerid steamid name reason

alternatively you can addyourself to the users document located in your cfg folder inside your servers root directory.

 

upload the groups file you have in your betterchat folder will fix it for you

[Suggestion] Can you make it in the config so you could grant permission that admins (authlevel 1 or 2) can bypass chat spam filter? I have extremely high WPM and face these issues incredibly often. Thank you so much, this is literally my only pet peeve!

 

I honestly don't know why admins should be provided the possibility to break the rules they set themselves (Here, the anti spam).
If you give me a good reason why you really need it, I could think about it.

 

I wonder how do I only ADM writes in the chat. Because I used the command /muteglobal but to the adm it is mutated .

 

Admins/devs/content creators spend an immense amount of time in and out of the server related to issues and try to make the best of use of their time by implementing certain plugins over others, implementing bugfixes themselves, and doing even real-life things. To answer a bunch of tickets at once by responding to people eg:
@player1, the answer to your question is to do this
@player2, the answer to your question is to do that
I type so fast that I trip anti-spam filters everywhere. Come face me in typeracer <3 (how about this, if i win in typeracer, consider it! if i lose, throw out the idea )
I spend so much time in my server it's ridiculous, talking to my players in the server is the main form of communication i have with my players, but often I cannot type out everything that I want to in a timely manner, because because I have to type sentences that have to be broken up in parts quickly, and it just becomes an inconvenience and waste of time if you sit there or have to make it habit to copy your consecutive messages.

I have the 2nd statement blocked, and even with only a 2.5 second delay on chat spam filter. I end up repeating the statement 2 or 3 times, so i now by habit, CTRL + X each 2nd statement i'm saying and try to wait there, and then hit enter with the next statement i'm saying OR, I often just sit there and wait to hit enter because I'll beat the timer much of the time. In these cases i'm not spamming. I also get talked over over often and don't think a /muteglobal would be appropriate in most of the situations. If i have messages that have 2 or 3 parts that get broken. People often ask the same questions over and over, and I don't mind answering them, but when I can't physically type them out it becomes an unfortunate issue.


The only other suggestion I could make that is similar is to ask if that we can make it work like this?:
Instead of message 1 being sent, starting a timer, and message 2 and 3 and 4 in violation, refreshing the timer - you can make it so message 2,3, and 4 are not resetting the "anti-spam" timer, so only messages 3 and 4 are definitely in violation of the original 2.5 second timer.

There's also the fact that I literally never, ever, will spam "message,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8+" in chat, ever, when probably 40% of my server's population would do that if I went on vacation for a week. They'd also spam the same message, while I'd never do that unless the chat was being violently flooded in a sense that doesn't warrant /muteglobal

It's against the rules to spam in the server. If you're chatting with someone and sending full sentences, this is something different (and permitted) - versus flooding chat with one letter to be mischievous, which is something many people do.

 

how do i set the primary group for a player?
