Better Chat [Replaced]

It's the config file, the moment you do any editing to it or add more then the default config it creates lag, the way the configuration is setup doesnt get along with hurtworlds chat and should be redesigned to do so or hurtworld needs to update their chat system. The author of the plugin had promised to release a new version that he had already released for rust; just had to port forward it for Hurtworld, like a month ago. So I doubt we'll see this, but plugin developers are sometimes busy so we sha'll wait. SouZa, tested this and confirmed the config file colides with hurtworlds poor chat system.

 

I confirm that the "chat lag" is caused by hurtworld way of dealing with the messages (and styled ones).

Servers that have several colored titles using BetterChat will most likely cause that lag. It's not really a BetterChat direct problem. I play on a server that uses BetterChat and there is no chat-lag because when player's talk on chat, they only have 1-2 colored prefix behind (like [Clan] and [VIP] ).

 

Ah yes, thats what it was sorry for that SouZa the config and hurtworld's chat just doesn't get along that is what it was. If hurtworld had a better chat system, this would work absolutely beautiful. I dont know why Hurtworld hasn't updated the chat yet, its terrible to be honest.

 

The port for hurtworld is in work. I am currently stuck at an issue with the console commands.

Glad to hear that you are working towards a new release of this; but we all must understand that it's not technically your plugin its more then less Hurtworld's chat cannot handle your plugin. It'd be like trying to play a Xbox One game on a Xbox, just wont happen So I'm excited to see the release!

 

Hello all, if I create a new rank like Owner I get also the prefix, title from Admin or VIP How can i delete that prefix, please help me.

 

Make sure you are in one group only

 

I did it about 20 times so i know it pretty sure

 

upload your betterchat groups file

 

Make sure I did delete Admin and it goes about VIP, Champion, Elite

 

I changed a few things in your config but do check your oxide users and groups files or whatever they are called with notepad++ to be sure everything it right. What version are you running of this plugin?

 

My betterchat Sometimes it freezes.But when you use the command,is becoming old.Please help me ?

@w0rkery you cannot fix this at this point in time. It's a client side issue. Basically whats going on is this super awesome plugin is trying to do a lot of stuff, and the chat cannot keep up because the chat in Hurtworld is poorly designed. Until Hurtworld updates their chat system, this plugin will continue to have small lags that you can do commands with to make it break the lag. I've been facing this since the new update, in the prior version of Hurtworld before they added signs, or any of that stuff it worked fine. The developer has talked about porting a new version, for Hurtworld that he has for Rust and it could fix the issue. Until then, we must wait for either Hurtworld or the Developer to update I believe. Hurtworld is talking about optimizing the chat a little bit, on their website so maybe that'll fix the issue? Or create more issues.

If what TJ is true maybe remove some options so there is no or less lag untill the devs solve the chat.
Hopefully they add plugin to the main game. So much Nice plugin like this one. Why not default?

I am waiting for a universal OnPlayerChat hook. Thats all blocking the way to a universal BetterChat for all games.

Well. Not sure if the new version would improve that. It hard to work around that issue. Most likely the color tags and all the formatting does it. And well. BetterChat is there to allow you to customize your chat to death.
