It actually doesn't need to have .exe, at least not for newer Windows versions. Pretty sure it's the same for older ones too.

    Check your RustDedicated_Data/output_log.txt for errors.

  3. Thanks a lot for the help.

Your server install isn't complete, it shows it missing RustNative.dll.

  5. the DLL this out.

It it was there when you started the server, then it's possible that it isn't compatible with your OS. I don't know what else it'd be.

  7. ok,
    thank a

    What should I use?

    32-bit or 64-bit?

    Rust Dedicated is only 64-bit.

  9. Had a feeling it was a bad build

  10. Thank you.

I will switch to other OS.

    Oxide doesn't provide that file...

    If your current OS 32-bit?

  12. no,
    is Win 2008 standard x64
    change to
    Win 2008 R2 Standard x64

  13. I never said it was oxide

  14. can you explain Wulf cause you seem know some thing facepunch won't want to say? same as this log for me and lot's other users:
Setting up your own Rust server | Page 49 | Oxide
"then it's possible that it isn't compatible with your OS" you ask oxide
    Compatibility
    Windows 64-bit Desktop (Vista/7/8.1/10)
Windows 64-bit Server (2008/2012)?? what is needed on 2008?
    Wine for Linux (1.7.30+)
then why Resistance can run it on a windows 2008 server without this issue? take a look a my post page 47 i try to know what is the issue but no answer and unsolved at time...posted at facepunch too no answer no information... why they won't answer about that? they just tag as dumb ! fuck

Oxide OS compatibility has nothing to do with Rust's OS compatibility. Generally when a DLL can't be read, it's either an OS incompatibility or a dependency is missing. The other reason would be that it's corrupt, but that's less common.

  16. I run it on windows 2008 server without any problems

  17. I don't how to answer you :/ exclude Oxide Wulf the server fresh and default won't start facepunch don't answer of that but if you read this one (again some guys):
Server dont start after update all we have the same log problem that happen without we do nothing!! before that run after that is dead why? ! we something missing than you it's surely but what?
I don't know why the guy say that then and dunno too why the server won't load rustnative on fresh install! I change my OS ! i buy (added a 2nd cpu) !! i'm not alone in this situation that why it's incomprehensible for me and i won't want to stay in that situation (that becoming to be long 1 month now). And worst of all "facepunch" they do not answer it marks dumb! I don't know what to do that append at starting October when unity 5.2 coming if i'm right? look at all my link joined in tread i'm not alone who that append !! shit
Resistance, yes you run it on w2k8 but why not mine damn! .net 4 installed c++2012 2013 x64 installed ! all machine driver ok! then what the hell :/
my brain is exceeded for that :/
Resistance have what OS version you have Win 2008 standard x64, Win 2008 R2 Standard x64 do you think it has any influence about?
Have you some way to follow then?

  19. Hello, I am trying to install a local server to practice building in a certain spot on a map, and am having some issues. I can't seem to get past, "
force_install_dir <path>" and I am not sure what to do.
