Hey Joe, not sure if this is legit or not but we had some guys in our server complaining about the app giving our players steamid64 and allowing them to go to their profile. They claimed it was against steams terms of service or something.
Thought I would just give a heads up -
I'll look into it. Thanks for the advice.
-
No worries mate, I personally have no issues with it but just don't want anything coming back to bite you or have someone complain to steam etc. Love ya work mate!
-
That's good to hear mate =)
I'm still mulling things over but it's not as though I'm providing private details that other players couldn't access just by Shift+Tabbing and viewing the player list.
Also RustDB names and shames without issue, and they provide the full SteamID and link through to player's profiles.
I'll do a little more research on the matter later.
Thanks again! -
IOS App?
(Shitty ios I know, getting rid of this gold paperweight asap) -
-
i have an issues with plugin after i validate things work ok until server restart i get an error that i'm trespassing on my own base. What have i Missed?
-
Do you get the error in-game or in the client app, or both?
If in-game, does the message continually repeat every 30 seconds or so?
Are you within the perimeter but you've dropped off your ignore list?
Thanks for the feedback,
JV -
it happens on both i action the ignore command for myself and it stops it until i action a plugin reload or a server restart
-
Awesome app / plugin - works like a charm! Thank you sir!
-
You're more than welcome. Thanks for giving it a try.
-
Had some feedback from players using your plugin, they had an issue where friends that were on their ignore list kept dropping off and he starts to receive alerts for them, & had to keep re-adding them. This might be caused by a server restart, but I couldn't get any further error data or details.
Everything is pretty much explained on your description page and the setup video, which we pass on to players to help with using the plugin & app, but had another suggestion from them for another video on adding and removing from the ignore list, or some kind of dumbies guide.
Love your work. -

Ignore list fix (Sorry for the delay!)

Nice work Joe!!
Hey is there a way so server admins or mods or admins can be added to an ignore list overall. When fly through their base, it triggers it. -
I'll add an option so if you're a moderator or owner you won't trigger any alerts.
I'm also making headway with a routine whereby the player can hop onto a foundation they have building privileges for, and do /rs base and have the perimeter automatically created, and a validation code automatically requested.
I'm hoping to simplify the process a little...
I'll have an update for you later today with any luck, and all being well, the auto perimeter routine should be good to go in the next day or 2 =)
Thanks again!

Stopped alerts being triggered by mods/admins

The iOS developer program is $99. However I may also need a low end iOS device for proper testing.
I'll have a play on the weekend as doing a little more reading shows that I may be able to develop and test for free using Apple's iOS simulator. I'd then only need the licence once ready for deployment onto real devices.
I've edited the description for the mod to let people know that if there's enough interest, I'll gladly code an iOS version; and a link to my PayPal.
Many thanks for the interest!

I am thinking of trying this on my server - we have 50-75 users - any issues with pop size?
also make an admin Rusty replacement for IOS!!! I don't have a mac or I would. my server will be about 200 users next month -
Hey Quicken,
As far as I'm aware there shouldn't be a problem with many users of the mod on a given server. I've not had any reports from existing server owners that would indicate to the contrary.
I programmed the mod to spread the perimeter checks over 30 seconds by default, so you shouldn't see any real additional server load, and synchronisation with my Raid Alert server to upload any alerts only happens once every 30 seconds, instead of uploading on each detection. Alerts are only queued to be sent externally once upon breach of a perimeter, and then once again when the player has left, to keep things to a minimum.
If you ever think the mod may be causing issues, type /rs disable to stop the automatic perimeter checks, and see if the problem persists.
Let me know how you get on. If there's anything that needs fixing, or any additions/options etc you'd like, post them here.
I'll be looking more into iOS bits and pieces over the weekend, and good luck with the server! =)
Kind Regards,
JV
