As I understand running a server takes time, at least they could keep it on weekly updates on thursday like they always did.

I do have a job to attend to and cant start rust everytime to see if I can still connect.

Twice in one week on random days is just too much. I started this server a few months ago and had to work real hard getting an active player base, then you have 15 people playing or so and then your server is suddenly down. Well then you just know the next day there is gonna be less players.

Oh I misunderstood. Thanks this is helpful, but still I think Facepunch is going on about this the wrong way and they are giving server owners a very hard time

  2. Don't you think issues should be fixed?

I completely agree abour your last line, but we can't have it all. Facepunch can only do so much about informing you. What would be the way of informing you when there's an update? We see twitter messages and created a Discord/Telegram bot to notify when the updates come out. Much of this relies on your own as a dedicated member of the server owners community.

  3. @goldie no I understand that yes Rust should keep to a semi regular updating schedule like they did before but from what I understand from other people these past 2 patches were to fix a glitch with boats and then the other was to fix a sounds bug.... I cant understand your frustration tho I ran 2 servers for about 2 years and had a full time job with irregular hours. Maybe someone can make something for people who host/have dedicated boxes that can ping the FP update server every once in a while and see if theres an update and if so warn players, save then install the update and restart... sadly this would also have to update oxide too for thoes servers who have it.

  4. You could always create a bat file that does all the above, you sign up for push messages about updates, login remotely and do a restart.

  5. Yeah right now i've got Steam for my smartphone and added some regular players to my friends list. Then I log in to the control panel through my mobile browser and go from there
