Rust update schedule?

Ok so I need to hear from people my server is unable to connect. Why do they suddenly throw out serverbreaking updates on monday?

I think since Rust is out of Early Access is should be on thursday once a month now, correct? But suddenly mid-wipe on a monday? Yeah that makes sense Facepunch...

Not the first time my server has been offline for more than 24 hours and have to hear from other people they cant connect. Especially when server owners work so hard to get those numbers they should at least know when servers are going offline/rust gets updated and you have to fix your server.

So how do you guys do this? I don't have time to be on the internet especially Steam and Rust every day and facepunch just disables your server untill you find out you need to update it.

Any way to smooth out this process?

Yeah I dont do social media. I tried Steam forums but I dont think anyone listens there too.

Oxide is more of a place where other server owners are so it seemed the best place to ask

It's just that important updates for Rust get notified on Twitter at this time, so you have no choice but to have an account for yourself ;-)

 

the update was to fix a game exploit with the boats.
My server was down for 5 mins so unsure why yours is down for over 24 hours.
That is not an update issue.

 

Because it happens at 1 am eu times tomhud, Some people actually sleep in the middle of night

 

so your saying people sleep for 24+ hours? Its a 5min update even if you lets say slept a normal 8 hours and the update went live JUST as you went to bed the server should maybe be down lets give you time to wake up check FB and some other stuff before you notice an update... the server should be down at most 10ish hours

well theres another update incoming now for rust.

 

fk them, we have no life with this updates. do only 1 at month and that's all !

 

Look Im not saying you cant have a life but look if you run game servers with active communities you know there are going to be server updates and they arnt all going to fall perfectly into an update schedule. If a server is down (because of a simple update) for more that 24 hours you have no one to blame but yourself.

I updated the server, updated the oxide, at the entrance shows ulibku update the server, wait for the update of oxide
