    Hey just wanted to let peps know about a custom plugin im creating. Its nowhere near finished but should be ready for a live test within a week ( hopefully ). - will post server details at a later date

    Its kinda like an RPG where players earn xp by playing the game like they normally would. For example gathering resources, crafting, killing animals and players will all give the player small amounts of xp. They can then spend this xp using the skill tree to increase certain skills

    I have only added 2 skills at the moment, Lumber Jack & Miner where increasing these skills will increase the amount of xp & resources gathered from trees and rocks.

    Other skills i plan on adding are things such as:

    Hunter - higher damage to animals from weapons, increased resources from animals
    Strength - Small amounts of max health increase ( like 10% / 20% max ) and increased stack sizes per player
    ( not sure if the stack sizes per player is possible, i know stack sizes can be set server wide )
    Crafting - reduce the time taken to craft items.

    IOf anyone has any ideas for skills please let me know.

    Players can also view stats specific to the server running the plugin such as amount of resources gathered, deaths & kills ect ect.

    I also plan on adding NPCs that wander around the world but havnt looked into the possibility of that yet.

    Also if someone could let me know why the GUI images appear lighter / brighter within the game than in photoshop that would be really helpful.

  5. Yes, sorry been working a lot ( bar manager 5/6 days a week and long hours ), been doing 30 / 60 mins a night here and there when i get the chance. Still also getting to grips with c# and rust. had a few delays. i decided to split the plugin across multiple files simply because it was hitting 2000+ lines. this caused a few problems that i have now sorted.

    Ill post some new screen shots in the next few days.

    Stats are basicly done ( just need a few tweeks ), Had to add some sub tabs as it wasnt going to fit all on one tab. still only the 2 skill trees at the moment they are next on my list,

    I also want to add some sort of faction element. something similar to the stalker series but thats way off yet.

    If anyone has any ideas about extra skill tress ( i would like about 6 in total ) or ideas for the faction element then let me know

  10. There are multiple plugins here that do the same thing. Just like there are different brands of the motorized vehicle (car). He should do this plugin, not just for is own server but for the community. REMEMBER - Choice is GOOD.
     
  11. Ok so i am still working on this slowly. Getting to grips with the whole scripting and stuff now.

    * menu now looks totally different with navigation along the top giving more room for content

    * redone skill trees list, the image height / width is based on the number of skill trees, when i add more it will look better as the height of the box with be smaller an the image will adjust to the size of the box

    * skill trees have branches ( that look super cool and tree like ) each branch has multiple skill increases and when you click on a skill it displays a description and the xp required to level up that particular branch. Also displays a button that allows the player to learn the next skill level also used it to display other info as well ( where clicking it wont actually do anything )

    however all these "improvements" do have a downside. thats a lot of images that are all loaded from the internet ( Index of /images/plugin - feel free to browse )

    the back ground image is downloaded to the client everytime the menu is opened ( the panel isnt destroyed until the menu is closed )

    the xp bar image is downloaded to the client everytime the stats tab is opened ( the panel isnt destroyed until the main nav tab is changed or the menu is closed )

    however the rest are downloaded everytime the subtab is opened or a skill tree updated. they are relatively small in filesize however sometimes when reloading the skill grid it may flash while it updates. i am happy to however just live with this.

    I expect to have a test version running on a server within a few days.

  15. hey all, Sorry have been away, House has been gutted and entirely re decorated and the main pc has been in storage for the last 90 days. Anyway the server has been updated and ive got my main pc set up again so onwards!

    New updates to rust require a few changes to the plugin so im doing that now and also various other bits that er didnt work properly. Not happy with the way the skill trees are so will change them ( again )

    There is a version running on the server but it will not let you past the language selection screen ( yes the plugin supports multiple languages within its gui & messaging system, tho i havnt translated the language strings yet it actually works) Its been stripped back to the basics and im slowly adding the features back again while making a few changes here and there.

    updates to the server over the next 5 days ( im off work ) will be daily ( maybe more ) so check it out. ( please choose english as your default language when you connect otherwise everything will just say "string not found" and spam my console with language string errors

    Watching this for sure :p

    EDIT: Wanted to contribute a progressive skill I'm designing
    Industrialism - every-levelish boosts the work output of your quarries, more of a farming skill for later-game but I wanted to throw in a feature as well to maybe find bonus materials in your quarries alongside bigger output.
