Solved RCON usage and admin setting?

    1. How do you connect to Rcon. Do I need Oxide for this?
    2. What commands can I do on the server without Oxide?
    3. The ownerid / moderatorid don't seem to have any effect on my player. Do I need to rejoin after doing this? Do I have to update the users.cfg file? Do I need Oxide for this to even work?

    RCON is provided by Rust, not Oxide. You'd need a third-party tool like the one Resistance mentioned.

    You can always find the latest commands using "find ." via RCON, your server console, or in-game if you have permission.

    hey so i made a server myself not buying one monthly i made it with the steamcmd and stuff do i need to get a rcon tool? like rusty? or do i not need it if i have the console what im asking is it needed to get rusty and what is rcon is it a cmd? is it a file a exe like i need help eplain rcon please

    You can type everything in the console use the rcon tool if you have other players

    if i have other players what? as admins?? or in the game yes i do have other players on the server but do i need to use rusty its not legacy server its the newest update if i dont get rcon can people do anything to my server? IS RCON REQUIRED>?

    RCON is for remote administration. If you server is not remote or if you have direct console access, you don't really NEED to use RCON, but it's there if you need it. RCON is not the same as in-game admin/owner/moderator levels.

    Well im just kinda confused i made my server a while ago and never used rcon tools and i am scared if i dont use them or set a password people could do stuff to my server i have the CMD but im not sure what do you mean if my server is not remote?

    If you don't have the RCON port open (default is 27016), nobody will be able to access the server using RCON.

    so i opened a port for rcon now all i do is download Rusty and set it up and thats it no one can use it only if they have the password but wait so im not on legacy im on the newest version of rust does taht madder? and once i open it and put all the info in do i have to type anything in game? like is there a command i have to type or do i just type the password in rusty and thats it or do i need to like go into the console and give me permission

    If you really want to use RCON, you'd need to set the +rcon.password and +rcon.port in your startup .bat/.sh.

    You dont have to use it but if you want to use rustadmin rcon tool its better and it runs from your pc
