1. Hmmm okay. To clarify, I am not trying to run the actual sever on the pi, JUST Rusty so that I have 24/7 monitoring of the server, even when I am not online, and my computer is shut down (I turn it off at night because it keeps my room too warm)

But the stuff I see in RCON, wouldn't Rusty need to be running in order to grab the logs from my FTP? Which is what I was hoping to do with Pi. I could just leave it running all the time with Rusty active, and then remotely log in to check my FTP to see if people were being racist dickbags while I was away, or causing excessive grief.

You'd still need an ARM build of Rusty most likely, it's not an x86/x64 CPU in it.

  3. Okay, no worries. On a related note: is there something I can do to have an actual live feed of server events and chatter, even while I am not at the desktop? Something that automatically uploads logs to my FTP while Rusty is closed/disconnected?

  4. No, Rusty doesn't need to be running for you to grab your logs from FTP.
Rust and Oxide log everything you see in RCON to files on your server, without Rusty.

  5. So i just checked those logs in oxide. All I see are server notifications like when someone joins/leaves, or my timed adverts pop up. Chat isn't showing up at all in logs, and neither is anything i say as the server. Is there a way to find that? Because that's mostly what I want to track down. What people said and make sure nobody was a jerk or anything

  6. There's a chatlog.

  7. Oh. So there is! Sorry, this is my first time hosting an oxide server. Thanks for bearing with me while I try to figure this out. Much appreciated!

The chat log is from Rust, not Oxide. ;)
