1. ofc, I never installed the Oxide manually. I did this using the gameservers admin panel. Let me see.

You know a lot of things change with rust updates, your updates and plugins. Since this is game is never going to release, an updated guide is so required. Everything is in pieces and scattered around.

So just to be clear, I will stop the server now. Delete all filed from ftp. Reinstall oxide. And Restart the server.

UPDATE > I think I don't have the permissions to upload this manually.

You can update via the same method as before, on your hosts control panel.

Stop server, uninstall Oxide button, install Oxide button.

  3. Okay, already done that before coming here but let's give it another go. There's no uninstall oxide button, I think it overwrites. I deleted everything oxide manually anyway. Now redoing everything in 5....4..... 3....

Whatever the host has you can use, no need to try to manually delete files. The build you have is a bugged build from earlier today.

  5. Done Wulf,

Stopped the server, Reinstalled Oxide using the button. Just to have a change, I only uploaded 2 plugins now. Kits and Rules.
For the first time a chat command work. /Rule
It's a promising step forward. Maybe one of the plugins was acting up?

Pretty sure it was the Oxide build. ;)

  7. Man, my luck. I stayed up all night to fix this because it was driving me crazy. How did I end up with the unluckiest build >.< Well If at least the other plugins work now, I can go die in my bed peacefuly.

I'm sorry, I didn't expect it to have issues. I'm hoping we can movie to a better release system in the future so that hosts do not have to rely on the snapshots.

  9. It is working! Thank you Wulf. <3

  10. Hi so I want to start off by saying I have no knowledge about plugins/ or hosting my own server besides a tutorial I saw yesterday about a rust dedicated server in which I successfully made. I got some plugins to work such as fire arrow, god mode, skip day/night etc.. But I didn't get them from the specific page, I found out how to do it from copying and pasting commands from the comments of that specific plugin. A lot of plugins have /commands which I am having trouble with. (Ex. Human NPC plugin has /npc_add command to spawn an npc, but when I put in that command I get an unknown command). I just downloaded everything yesterday, so I doubt I'd need to update anything. I also made myself moderator, and made sure every plugin was in the plugin folder. When I type plugins into the server console, it shows the plugins I have downloaded, but the commands do not work. I have read similar posts about this sort of thing, but am still a little confused. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

p.s. debug camera makes my character look weird every time I use it?

Which Oxide build are you currently on? You can check using the oxide.version console command or chat. It sounds like you updated to a snapshot that was bugged, but I'd need to know the version to know for sure.

  12. You need to make yourself an admin not a mod
    So remove your mod
    removemoderator steamid64
and add yourself as an admin
    ownerid steamid64 "player name" "Owner"
    then server.writecfg then relog

I changed myself to owner, but the server.write.cfg wasn't a command for me

Update to the latest snapshot, your server is on a bugged build.

  15. the command is server.writecfg not server.write.cfg I fixed my above post

  16. I re downloaded the build and it seems that was the problem. Thank you!
