What tag do i need to add to better chat to get ranks to show in chat

 

The tag doesn't matter, but the name of the group for BC does.

 

So you would need to put each group name in from of the player? Sorry lost on what you would use? Is there a details posted someone how how to set this up? Currently I have 15 ranks

 

Adding {Group} just displays they are in the Default group

 

You don't need a detailed way or anything else. Simply add the ranks that you want to have in the PlayerRankings config, and add those ranks with the same GROUP NAME being the same for BetterChat, you can make any tag name, but the GROUP NAME has to be the same.

 

@Ankawi I also ran into issue where I could not change Regular and Pro ranks,

Thanks for the feedback. You should be able to rename the Regular and Pro ranks, or simply revise them inside the plugin itself.

 

i have Eight ranks, i do have a problem with the top level (500 hours) showing with the 2nd lowest (3 hours) i have checked the config files and they are correct, it is a puzzle

 

Look a few threads back and there's a 2nd version of PlayerRankings that automatically puts people where they belong and has a constant-check for playtime, you should install it once and then remove it within 30-60 seconds. Re-check the ranks, if that doesn't work, then it's a problem with BetterChat most likely.

 

Even though the player concerned (with double rank) has moved up two ranks the top rank still shows as well as the current one, it does not happen to any other player (so far)

 

This would have to be the most annoying plugin i have found, I have re edited it 5 times tonight , i have removed it and better chat and i still get the double ranks showing on some players I have edited PR cs file and dont understand why it is showing them when there is a large difference in the hours, how can is show someone with 10 hours the levels for 500/10 hours ?.
i have someone with 84 hours who is shown with levels for 75/50 hours ?

 

Haha, I understand your frustration--similar to mine while I was testing the plugin's functions. Add me on steam Steam Community :: Ankawi and I'll help you get this sorted out.

 

You will be surprised i am sure when i say i do not use Steam for anything else but connecting to the game , i do not have any "social Networking" at all except for forums, i will enter a "conversation" with you if you like,

 

Not sure why you chose not to utilize steam as a communication tool, but I guess you some have reasonable argument for it. Anyway, send over a conversation with all details, configs, and plugin changes that you've made, including what ranks are conflicting with each other.

 

i have already supplied all the above in the posts, I did spend an hour reading all the old posts and noticed that this is not a "new" problem , and quite a few server owners have had the same or similar "double" rank problems, and this is a "continuing" problem on my server, i have one player for instance who was on rank 3 with no problem but now is showing rank 3 and 4 now he is on rank 4, another player who is on rank 3 has been showing the top rank with their rank since they were on rank 1,
As you can see from my previous post i "hardwired" the ranks in the PR cs file (to get rid of regular and pro) and all the ranks match better chat ranks

 

(1) How do I reset all players playing time to zero please?

Delete ConnectionDB and then install the PR I posted which will automatically revoke all ranks for online players. Another way is by deleting ConnectionDB and the BetterChat groups.

Download the one that I posted there. Install it, edit it, and it will auto-check every online player group to make sure that you are in the correct rank.
