Like in the router? Port ip 0.0.0.0 instead of my internal ip? Or have the batch file use 0.0.0.0 (it already does)

Says invalid ip. Cant use 0.0.0.0 for port forwarding apparently
[DOUBLEPOST=1526012441][/DOUBLEPOST]The name of my server is set and the maxplayer setting is at 50, so it looks like the batch file is doing something im not familiar with
Do i start the server using the batch file or the rust.dedicated exe? And do i edit things other than the batch file itself?Attached Files:

Start server using the bat file I gave you and edit things like what?
-
This is what the server bat looks like (password is different ofc) but when i bring up the server, it doesnt list the name i gave and it says the player cap is 500 when its set to 50 in here, so is there something else i edit or is it just the bat file?
So far iv done everything right and its not working :/Attached Files:

Thats all fixed. Still doesnt show up in the server list
What i do know btw is that i do not have a static internal ip. I rarely leave so i wont have to monitor it much
Also just to check and be safe, what do i look for in the firewall to make sure its not interfering?
[DOUBLEPOST=1526014314][/DOUBLEPOST]Also dumb question, but do i need to restart my computer and/or router when i make changes to the ports? I dont remember having to but i also have a shit memory -
-
Using windows 10. I saw the new batch file and already fixed mine xD
-
open Windows Firewall. In the left pane, click Advanced settings. In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security dialog box, in the left pane, click Inbound Rules, and then, in the right pane, click New
-
Yep, im there so far
[DOUBLEPOST=1526015202][/DOUBLEPOST]Alright so i made a new rule that applies to upd only, and affects all local ports and allows connection -
if it still wont work do the same for outbound rules -
Alright thats setup (i didnt specify the port). Ill give it a few mins and then use that site from earlier to check if the port is open
[DOUBLEPOST=1526016761][/DOUBLEPOST]Still says port is closed :/ -
Any updates on what else i could try?
-
Did you check if port was open when server is running if not then you need to check router settings if that is not the problem do you have any antivirus software running
-
I wouldnt know if anythings running id have to check
[DOUBLEPOST=1526020122][/DOUBLEPOST]Ok so all thats running is windows defender which iv never touched. I did check the port while the server was running. What would i look for in my router settings to make sure -
defender is ok it does not block ports the thing about windows 10 its not the best for running a server from if you have windows 7 pc use that but it needs a lot if ram
-
I only have this laptop. My server also wont be dedicated, i just want friends to be able to connect
-
How much ram does it have
-
12g. Was told i needed 6g or so
