1. We all love Oxide and the plugins, but why so many of them lack the permissions level.
Im pretty much sure we all want to have that ability, is there a way to ask for Oxide Project Leaders to Regulate a bit more the Requirements for Plugins? Force Developers to use the Permissions System or is it unfinished?

The permission system is relatively new, and there are many old plugins that work but may not be maintained by the author currently. There are also some features that need to be added yet. We'll likely be doing a sweep through the plugins at some point and removing some, updating some ourselves, and probably implement permission requirements once we get to a point where a standard can be set.

  3. Glad to heard that the Dev Team is working on it and what you guys are planning with the plugins. Will be waiting for it, it's been a nightmare to give permissions when no permissions are defined from code.

    Thanks for replying.

We're hoping to eventually replace the auth level system entirely, allowing commands to be assigned with permissions instead. This will give server owners more freedom and allow more control over their moderation teams. The biggest issue right now is getting users familiar with the system and making it as easy as possible to create groups and assign permissions.

  5. I know that copying is not the way to go with a project, but maybe bring a Similar Type of permissions like the ones in Minecraft(Not entirely sure how possible is) but could make it easier to understand or perhaps make the Docs section a bit more into a Wiki where detailed information is posted (Personally tried to find a Wiki where to find this kind of content and failed to do so). The point is that, a good and rich informational Wiki can get rid of the "Getting Familiar to the System" issue.

The permission system is like many of the common ones found with Minecraft/Craftbukkit/etc, but it hasn't implemented the majority of the features yet. We still have to add an inheritance system, wildcard support, and additional commands.

The Docs are a bit behind, mainly because there are only a couple users that contribute to it and we've been a bit swamped. We'll get them done though.

  7. Atleast it will be done, that's what it matters :)

Will be waiting for those updates, it will help alot for GSP to have this implemented as they could provide more In-depth support regarding Permissions and plugins.

Again, thanks for replying so quick.

  8. What's the best way for the community to help you all out with the documentation? Speaking for myself, I'm not an excellent programmer, but I have a background in both IT and English and would like to contribute more than just donating. Would just making readable forum post about the permission system be of help? Or is there a better way?

  9. Perhaps a Form for Wiki Writters could be a good thing to do?

The docs are open source, and have been there since day 1 for users to contribute to, it's just a matter of people trying. ;)

  11. most of us already use the permissions in most of our plugins.
