What is the procedure when Rust updates?
How do I know there is a Rust update?
How do I know oxide is still working with that update?
How do I know the extensions/plugins are still working?
Is it all done by hand at this point in time?
How can I automate this process, to minimize downtime of my server(s)?

- Either monitor https://steamdb.info/depot/258551/history/ or word of mouth.
- Someone at Oxide is always working on updates, and an update for each Rust update is usually out within an hour, else when possible.
- Breaks don't happen often, but your best bet is to just test them. A local test server is recommended.
- Updates are done manually to prevent errors from game changes.
- Automation is not simple. You'd need to write scripts to check for updates, download updates, and patch and hope it work fine.

usually I have to wait much longer than 1 hour till the oxide update hits. do you also have to wait for the official rust update to finalize oxide or can you use the dev updates to prepare at least a non-breaking version?
anyways, thank you very much for this great project, I appreciate it a lot and this shouldn´t be understood as a rant <3 -

We currently do not update for Dev changes as they often vary greatly between updates.
