Hey guys,
I play at vanilla servers. Some of them seem to have plugins enabled and I recognized some Oxide plugins.
How can they have Oxide enabled in vanilla? I read about servertags already removed due to abusing, so there must be another detection?!
Solved What determines a modded server?

Rust has always used server tags for it, you are just thinking of the hook that Oxide exposed before to allow modifying it. If a modded server is in the community list, they are just being sneaky about it and removing the tags.

It's quite simple. The Rust master server has no means for checking whether anything a game server tells him is correct, so he has to trust the game server.
To make the master server believe that you're not a modded server, you just have to lie to it -
Thanks to you two
