Wall cheat in this video?

I was roaming around and saw a player walk right through this armored wall. I removed my noclip and was not able to walk through the wall. I messaged him and asked how he was walking through the wall. I told him that I saw him walk right through it and he told me the wall was not there on his screen when he was going in and out of the room. He then showed me this little wall cheat. I don't think this is a "glitch" because this is how the roofs behave now. People that do this can basically have a full armored room with no doors and get in and out with the expensive of twig - for servers that have /remove at least. Anyone else see people doing this?

 

That's not an exploit/cheat, its part of rusts build mechanic. I see them everywhere.

 

Cant wait till the roof exploit get patched

 

Its not a exploit.
Its been in game for the last 2 months, i doubt it'll be going anywhere soon.
I've seen no commits mentioning this building mechanic being changed in anyway.

There is no way they intended to do it.

 

Its not an exploit This has been used since Christmas.
If you keep up to date with what the developers say and the commits you'd see they have not rushed to "fix" the supposed bug.

It is Rust's Build Mechanic. There is nothing to be done about it until Facepunch think its an issue, as far as i can see nothing has been mentioned or commited about it. The only thing i heard was its not important at the moment.

 

On vanilla servers I don't see it as being as big of an issue.. guess that's why there is no rush to "fix" it, but servers with /remove, this creates another game mechanic to take advantage of.

What is the exploit? The video is gone so I have no idea what he is talking about..?

 

The thing where when you place a roof it automatically gives you a half wall to fill in the side. Players take advantage of this by adding and removing a twig roof and they basically get a wall as a door.

It's going to be patched on Thursday. From then on you will need to manually place a wall on the side of a roof.
