Updating Rust without wipe?

    Good evening, This might be a newbie question I read around but didn't find a clear answer. Does anyone know how to update rust without losing people building/items in there inventory using gameservers?

    This is the panel I see. If i press server updates it will remove oxide

    Your server should never be updated by updating unless either you or your host wipes it, or a Rust forced wipe happens. Simply updating does not cause a wipe. Oxide is a mod, so whenever you run "Server Update", it will uninstall Oxide because it is validating and restoring the server files to originals. Every time you run an update, you need to install Oxide again. Installing Oxide will also not wipe your map.

    I see a plugin named SaveMyMap for save map and restore it after wipe but i don't test it . So maybe it's possible?

    Alright, So I would press "Install" on server update and then manually install Oxide back on the server to get mods working. What is that oxide 2 exactly?

    I appreciate your help! Thanks a bunch

    If you want plugins working, yes, you'd need to install Oxide again.

    What is Oxide 2? That is the mod for which the site you are posting on.

    Ahaha my bad I thought this was only called "Oxide". Alright I will try updating today!

    It's just Oxide, 2 is the current version, 2.0.xx.
