Bit of a NOOB question but what is the best way to update oxide on a rust server? I have tried to just overwrite the files like when I first installed oxide but that just causes the server to crash. Do I need to somehow uninstall it first or should I backup my server data, download a fresh install of rust and install oxide clean?
Sorry if this has been covered but I'v searched and cant seem to find a definitive answer.

All you have to do is overwrite. If you are "crashing", then you'd need to check your logs, as you're likely just missing a dependency somehow.

Thanks for the quick reply. I looked at the logs and remember "something" about missing "something" but I just figured I screwed up. Luckily I backed up so I will try again and pay more attention this time.
[DOUBLEPOST=1425956373][/DOUBLEPOST]Well I tried again just overwriting but crashed again checked the output_log.text and found
The file 'C:/rust_server/RustDedicated_Data/sharedassets2.assets' is corrupted! Remove it and launch unity again!

I deleted the "sharedassets2.assests" file fired up the server and crash. The new log dosent reference the corrupt file just the script missing and memory errors. I'm downloading a fresh rust server so i can try a clean install. Fingers crossed!
