1. Can you tell me if this description is correctly written ?

server.description "[BE-FR-EU]KZU-ANTI RAID OFF-Level-GoodAirdrop-Clan-Rad-Kit\nLa team KZU-Gaming vous presente son serveur rust.\n-Serveur AntiRaid Off Douze heures\n- Ressources Proche Vanilla\n- Good airdrop Loots\n- Wipe Map toutes les 2 semaines\n- Active Radiations\n- Village Commercial\n- Chasseur de Primes\n- Kits, Clan, Stack, Messages Prives\n- Wipe BP uniquement quand oblige\n- Prochain Wipe Map : 02 juin 2016"

Can you tell me if I can use that in the rust admin too, paste it in the decription like this :

[BE-FR-EU]KZU-ANTI RAID OFF-Level-GoodAirdrop-Clan-Rad-Kit\nLa team KZU-Gaming vous presente son serveur rust.\n-Serveur AntiRaid Off Douze heures\n- Ressources Proche Vanilla\n- Good airdrop Loots\n- Wipe Map toutes les 2 semaines\n- Active Radiations\n- Village Commercial\n- Chasseur de Primes\n- Kits, Clan, Stack, Messages Prives\n- Wipe BP uniquement quand oblige\n- Prochain Wipe Map : 02 juin 2016

    and the use server.writecfg

    thx

/EDIT ... OK I UNDERSTOOD SOMETHING... DO NOT USE THE RUST ADMIN TOOL TO UPDATE THE SERVER INFORMATION...

When I do it and use server.writecfg it is working live ( if I go in the game I can see the changes ) but when opening my serverauto.cfg on the FTP I can see it is empty... reason why when there is a reboot, I have a new map...

I will try to speak with Vfloyd about that... ( for rust admin tool )

  2. The server.description is stored in the server.cfg file not the serverauto.cfg :)

The serverauto.cfg will reset every restart, it should not be used.

  4. So you tell me it is better to create the server.cfg file and put everything in it and then upload it in the cfg directory. Like this my config will be saved right ? Then I can restart my server, and the config will be taken into account ?

    oki I see this post : Solved - No server.cfg? | Oxide

Is it still valid today ?

You should be using server.cfg, not serverauto.cfg. If the file does not exist, manually create it. You can try to read it while the server is loaded by using server.readcfg in the server's console or RCON, otherwise you'd need to restart.

  6. Oki I will create that file. I will edit it with all my command line. I will save it. I will restart my server ( and I will not use the serverauto.cfg that caused problems today ) and it should be oki like that then. Thx.
[DOUBLEPOST=1464126953][/DOUBLEPOST]Can you tell me Wulf if what I created is fine ?

Then I put that on ftp and I restart the server and it will be ok ( based on that file right ? )

    Looks fine to me.

  8. You will find somethings you put into the server.cfg file will not show right or show at all so try putting them in the bat file it will work right every time. The last 4 you have in that file I would move to the bat file so they work better

The server.cfg is loaded at the start, it won't matter if they are used there or in the .bat. The only exceptions are the rcon settings, which aren't usable from the .cfg last I tried. You shouldn't try to set the same things in both locations though.

  10. I have set the file in the config.

I restarted the server. Everything went fine.

So now I can be reassured that in case of a restart coming from the provider, it will take that server.cfg file into account and will be oki.

    Thx for advices !

ps : Resistance : My actual provider is like this :

    pannel : ( 007.JPG )
    Then I go to command line changer : I have a selected setup : (008 )

Procedure was to set everything in that command line changer. Then to edit serverauto.cfg ( but you know the story ) ... so now with server.cfg and the restart everything went fine !

  11. Never said to use both locations I have tested this and I know the header image won't show when being used from the server.cfg file now, maybe some hosts are different and allow this but I know my host won't let it. I find it best to put all in the bat file this is where it runs the best this is my own opinion I am sure others will not agree with it

I wasn't saying to use both, I was just saying not to. I use the server.cfg for pretty much everything, works fine last I saw. Either should work fine, it's just what you prefer mostly.

  13. Well my host stops the header image and url from showing when used in the server.cfg file. When hosting from own pc the both of them and the hostname wont show so this is why I use the bat file for most things yes I do have somethings in the cfg file but not much

  14. Let me check mine...Seems it is working like Wulf ( from the server.cfg )

Thx again for the advices !

  15. Who is yours provider?
