Server wiped by itself??

Hey, someone can tell me please why my server get wiped today or tomorrow i dont even know, by itself? Strange thins going after that last update....

only time its wipes is on a forced update

 

So by who the wipe was done? if i wasnt on at that time?

Because you asked a question thinking we know the answer when you give very little info so I give little info back

 

Sounds like your map file was deleted or reset, which triggered your plugins to reset. This can be a corruption or maybe you accidentally deleted it. Plugins can't wipe a save file.

 

Who is your host?

 

I cant delete it myslef because wipe happened at 1:28am i was sleeping at that time lol!
Im using GameServers

 

Okay, I had a test server on gameservers, They are terrible when it comes to memory allocation for their gameservers, most likely the same that happened to mine on gs, memory exceeded, something corrupted and it just wipes the map.. demand they raise your memory because i'd say thats what it would be with. And if you plan on keeping your server, look for someone other than gameservers.. they are terrible

 

Im sorry Explorer 5... GS or FN isa crappy company. Theres a chance your save got corrupted so your server appeared to wipe. As Resistance said addons wont wipe your server... make sure that auto update is turned off tho as that "could" cause isses or a wipe

If you are going to continue using GameServers i'd suggest getting the plugin SaveMyMap from here, so it will save your map in other locations.

I've had the same issue on 2 hosts and the map is wiping because the server crashed due to no memory, I put in a ticket to Gameservers and they upped my memory for me and I've not had the issue since, Had the same issue on serenity servers and they could not fix if anything it got worse so moved hosts

 

I thought this was the case, I had two servers "wipe" themselves in two weeks. opened tickets with GS and found that if the map gets a corruption during the save process it will crash then reload with a new un-corrupted blank map. Essentially same seed/size per your config file just no objects. makes for many unhappy players. GS support told me it was most likely some legacy database objects that caused the issue. Only solution is a bare wipe

 

yep if you restart your server regular all seems well we have 40 - 60 players on and we auto-restart the server every 6 hours and we have no had the issue since. You could also run SaveMyMap plugin that will save your map every 10 or 15mins SaveMyMap

 

How on earth do you have 40-60 players on a gameservers server without it lagging to death? Lol.. I used it for a test server and it lagged with just a few people online
