Solved Server vote kick

Need a vote kick for when a staff member is not on and a player is being an asshat.

Addon needs to annouce a vote kick has been started
Needs not to be abuseable by spam
Players may only attempt to vote kick any person once per 24 hours
Request at least half of the available players online to kick the person,
If a player gets vote kicked 3 or more times, Ban needs to take place for 30 days

 

Ok, i havn't coded anything much in a while, but I can try

 

I thought about making this a while ago but I gave up on the idea. I feel that it would be abusable however way you make it unless an admin was there to review all kicks and settle disputes. Imagine it's late night and there's 9 players on.. 5 of them are in the same clan and decide they wanna raid.. They can just chain votekick everyone off because they have a majority.

It would have to be severely limited and controlled to be just.

 

Well mr Deicide666ra make that happen.

Make a minimal of 15 people online to init a vote kick, make the vote kick not useable by a clan member that inits the kick.

I'm working on it atm i'll see what i can do.

 

The addon needs to check the following things.

Is player sending excessive chat before kick, ? Something to validate a kick

Is the kick comming from a player with many online clan members. If so...
Prevent those players from voting but reduce the amount of players to kick based on the players than cannot vote.

How many times has player been kicked before. Check if similar reason.


Just some ways to prevent abuse

I would make like 80 percent of the server required vote. A way to exclude afk plays voting so yes/no vote system

 

Waw that's a lot of more things there. I think i'll try to release something relatively simple in a first time (like tomorrow) and then i'll be adding things like validation (chat spamming, bad words etc ...), admin commands, clan checking etc ...
But if you have some more stuff you're thinking about please tell me quick so i can order things in my poor newbie brain D:

First reaction: this will probably kill any server that uses it .

good player will be kicked for being good at the game , trolls will use it to troll . the only way to make it work would be to do it so 90% off the server needs to vote yes
. and even that could be a problem . some people dont use the chat so the wouldnt vote making it impossible to kick the player aether way . make it to easy to kick someone and everyone will kick everyone . will be interesting to see how you make this

also if people vote to kick someone will there be a counter version so people can vote No ?

edit:i read the threw everything posted on here so far . i can see you have thought of most of it . still will be a issue with players that dont use chat . also will the first person that initiates the kick right down a reason . for example

/kick "USER NAME" "SPAMMING CHAT WITH BULLSHIT"

then the server will announces

Jacob has initiated a kick on USERNAME for SPAMMING CHAT WITH BULLSHIT

Also info gets saved so a admin can come on later to see reason behind the kick

Just a few ideas i thought off .

still i think you might encounter people on the server that will write in chat "everyone lets vote kick him" as trolls . still with all counter measures you have said there is still a huge possibility to abuse . i personally would not risk it on my server

I'm sorry but i won't be able to release the plugin until Thursday at least as i'm not home. Will post a first release and update it later i think.

 

I need to have a kicking plugin can vote, when reaches a certain number of votes, violators will be time away from the server or permanent, voting launched by the player, nobody can only launch a daily or weekly. I am willing to give money

 

Good idea would love to see and have this plugin myself
