Solved Server not showing up on any list (port not open)

    So I have my dedicated server set up and working I'm able to connect to it by doing client.connect"My modem/router IP". But it does not show up in any of the tab list on the Rust client, and I have the "Show Empty Servers" so I can see all empty servers.

    Now when I run the server on my main PC (not my server PC which I just told you about) I connect with the same command and it works just fine. But when hosted on my main PC I can see it in my Favorites tab and History tab.

    I made the server on my main PC and put it onto my Server PC via flash drive. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but my main PC is running Windows 7 and my Server PC is running Windows 8.1, so what I'm thinking is it may have downloaded a version of the Rust Server that works on Windows 7 better. But none the less it is still a problem because it does not show in the Modded tab anyway.

    If you are behind a router, you'll need to make sure you are forwarding the ports (both server port + query port) to the computer with the server on it.

    I have all of my ports forwarded well I have hosted many other servers out to the public just fine.

    When a server doesn't show in the Rust list at all, it is either blacklisted or the query port isn't open (1 port above normal server port generally).

    I have the port 28015 forwarded and it does not show. So how would a server get black listed?

    The port that the list uses is not the same as your normal server port, it's generally 28016 by default.

    Do I have to change anything in my startup batch line for that?

    If you want to change the port, but otherwise no, just make sure the port is open with your host or router.

    So I forwarded the port and all works well on both computers now. Thank you and I appreciate the work you put into all of this and I appreciate your ability to put up with stupid people like me thank you.
