Solved Server keeps hanging (Lua bug)

Discussion in 'Rust Discussion' started by Norn, Jul 21, 2015.

  1. This isn't an oxide issue as I've been speaking to the guys at deinserverhost, they say after the latest rust update servers seem to be hanging after a few hours for a lot of people.

    Anyone else experienced this?

The only issue I am aware of was with the Lua DLLs, not really Oxide itself, but snapshots had the older Lua DLLs in the for a couple days now, I just went ahead and released one of them as we haven't been able to figure out the cause of the Lua "out of memory" issue yet. I don't know if this is related to your issue or not, as you haven't provided much details on it. If you could provide logs, versions, etc, that'd be helpful.

  3. The thing is there isn't anything useful in the logs, nor the console. It literally just hangs, everything looks normal in the console. Server appears online and stuff just literally nothing.

Just upgraded to the latest version you put out and it seems to be running okay, I'll keep you updated

Oxide should still have logs under oxide/logs, you'll generally see info up until the crash.

  5. Code:
3:55 PM [Info] [BetterLoot] BetterLoot: Refreshed 18 containers (0 destroyed)
3:56 PM [Info] [BetterLoot] BetterLoot: Refreshed 4 containers (0 destroyed)
3:57 PM [Info] [BetterLoot] BetterLoot: Refreshed 3 containers (0 destroyed)

Literally it, from 3:57 onwards it hangs, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the BetterLoot plugin though.

Your latest update has fixed this it seems

It was probably the newer Lua DLLs then and one of the Lua plugins you are using.
