1. Heya everyone!

So I'm about to rent myself an Rust server with 100 slots (Want a big map, not that big tho, medium amount of plugins and stability) but I simply can't choose between these hosts:

    • RoxServers
    • HostHavoc
    • DeinServerHost
    • Vilayer
    • Survival Servers
    • Gameservers

They all have their pres and cons. I've hosted on DeinServerHost before but there are alot more great deals on the market today.

Any of you guys have any experiance with these?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dexvi

  2. Gameservers will lag

  4. Thanks for your offer but I'm looking for around $20/$25 p/m to start with and located somewhere in the EU.

  5. Dein was decent for me until we got over 60 plus players 8gb ram also and it will force restart every 12 hours after about 2 days in wipe because ram maxes out. But it is also a 15x server. But yeah gameservers NO unless you want less than 20 people. NFO even sucked for me they only give like 6gb ram and that wasn't enough either that one would just crash no warning. GameServers Lags bad but wouldn't crash. DeinHost restarts but usually rollback a few minutes.

  6. Thanks for all the info, I´ll remove them from my personal list :p

  7. I heard on the grapevine that Vilayer overpopulate their physical boxes with customer servers, which if they indeed do could lead to problems down the road.

  8. Thanks for the info, I'll remove them from my list too :p

  9. I used to work for these guys, they are very professional when it comes with servers - just checked and they host Rust too :)

    Rust Game Servers

  10. I use Multiplay and have had great support from them BUT they seem to have a plugin issue and what they consider "security issues" with them, Had the server for about 10 months and plugin issues seem to be the only problem, Mind you a lot of that has been caused by game updates screwing around with the plugins

  11. I bought a 50 slot server from
    • Gameservers and so far iv had max players of 10 and had no issues!

  12. You will in time the more bases the more lag I don't have problems with mine as I remove unused bases daily

  13. every host no matter who they are or where they are has some sort of issues at some point, like every host we all do our best to minimise the impact to our customers

  14. HostHavoc is what I use and I have 65 plugins and around 15-20 players on in the evening for a 100slot server. The node my server is on is very good.
    Dual E5-2650v2, 128GB RAM, 2x 2TB Drives in RAID1, 500Mbps/1Gbps line, Windows Server 2012 Standard R

  15. I find it very hard to find a list of required specs somewhere. Wanted to run my own server so i just ordered from Strato.com a windows 2012 vps, cheapest package for 9 euros a month with 1 core and 2 gygs internal to see how it would work. That really didnt run well to my wishes with like 25 mods, 50 players and a 8k map. I was totally new that month to Rust server and you gotto start somewhere i thought so lets just try. It started lagging quickly but memory leaks occured also i think which blew up performance back then. I saw people in forums seeing their server blow up to 26gygs internal memory occupied of the 32gygs so i think it was a software issue also then.

So i upgraded the package to the second tier for 16 euros a month with 4 cores and 4 gyg to see how well that would behave, bearing in mind i would probably upgrade again next month because overall you hear 8gygs in your server is quite important for performance. I have learned how to keep entities low now (For me its just installing twigsdecay setting decay on twig wood and stone and making a round removing all raided and old bases using R-remover each day myself, some days the entity count is even lower then 4 days earlier, been in the 150k-200k entities range all save now.

So i dont see the need for the 8gygs internal memory version yet, highest amount of players i had was 26 while its the third month so i was amused by that. While i had 26 players there was about 150k entities on the 6400 size map and server was running on ~230 serverfps so that was quite ok. I restart every like 48 hours now just as a precaution. Usually a restart cleans about 25k entities and fps will go like 40 higher.

Hope this info helps you, and personally i think its more fun configuring a complete windows12 server to your own needs. You can access all directories and files easily and do not have to cope with some "provider dashboard" because its your own server. On the other hard through a provider you can get it all running very easy. A friend of mine uses multiplay for a 20 player server and hes quite satisfied, installed a fully modded server without too much ict knowledge.

  16. I reccomend PingPerfect - 40 ppl on server and no lags and 50 server slots. + on server is 50+ plugins.
hosthavoc for me lagged as shit!!

  17. Had deinserverhost, but their performance were very worse... where are you from?

  18. I'm recommending HostHavoc. I currently run a 200 player server with player peaks of around 180~ players. No problems.

I used to host with GameServers, but their support was awful and wouldn't allow any further changes to what my server really required, so it just kept crashing.

I then moved to ViLayer, but their licenses are 3 years out-dated, so they no longer reply to support tickets etc, so I ended up leaving them.

Then I joined up with HostHavoc, and everything is fine and dandy.
