1. Hi all,

I'm at a loss for how to get more animals on my server. At any one time I'll have around 50 or so animals across a 4000 size map seed, and they'll all be bunched up in extremely random areas.

I've tried bumping this up with the server.cfg modification, and this helped a little bit it also ended up just putting nodes everywhere. I then tried SpawnConfig for Rust | Oxide and this helped a little bit, but the settings would reset every morning with a server restart so it would go back to defaults. All the plugins on our servers are completely unrelated to Animals and come from the top plugins in Oxide.

Does anyone have any other ideas on how to fix this and to bump up animal spawns? Thanks heaps for your help!

  2. config settings will only reset the config if there is a mistake in it

  3. I have the same issue on my 4000 map, very few animals indeed. I have tried changing the spawn.min / max rates and density up as high 150 (min 50 / max 150 and still not easy to find. Im sure there was a time where my head was ripped off by bears and wolves the minute i stepped outside my hut on servers i had before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  4. I, too, am looking for a solution to this. I run a size 3000 map and animals are super scarce.

It appears that cornucopia is no longer available/maintained, which was my go-to solution for this problem in the past. It was a simple solution: tell it how many min/max of each type of animal you wanted and it would make the # of each type within those limits you set. Super easy.

Additionally, in the past, the core server settings for spawns seemed to have interesting results - the higher the density the less animals, at least in my observations on all of the high spawn density with low spawn rate server configs I have run.

Any suggestions on controlling animal spawns would be outstanding!
