1. Hi guys i really need help, I have a hosted dedicated server (VPS) with IP public and I can't connect to my server. It works if I use Hamachi, but with IP public not work... I've forwarded all ports (ALL PORTS!) and still not working. Someone have the same problem? Thx for attention!

  2. After setting up a rust server for the third time, each on different VPS's (although same host), it always end up being stuck on "Receiving Data" when connecting to the server.

    And the console:

[DOUBLEPOST=1443289807][/DOUBLEPOST]When using NETSTAT, I can only see the rcon port, not the port of the actual server
[DOUBLEPOST=1443296453,1443285555][/DOUBLEPOST]So I just tried running the server on my own computer, and it worked fine. People could connect at everything, so why won't it work on the VPS? It's running windows server 2008

It could very likely be a network issue with your VPS.

  4. Perhaps, but all other kinds of servers runs flawlessly

  5. I'm going to bump this thread, I'm also having the exact same problem with my VPS.
I'm running Windows Server 2008 and also can't login as I am continuously getting stuck on, "Receiving Data...".

There must be some sort of thing we're overlooking because many other servers seem to be working fine, I have even tried asking around to no avail, everyone keeps telling me to post a thread. I'm hoping someone can help us both now.

  6. Okay, so we just tried running it in windows 7 compatibility mode, and we could connect to it successfully. The first time. After disconnecting and trying to connect again, same problem.
[DOUBLEPOST=1443367648][/DOUBLEPOST]It's apparently only possible to connect the exact moment the server opens

  7. I'm also using google cloud, and it appears to be a problem with their servers. I tried using microsoft Azure, and it worked just fine there.

  8. I tried using AWS and that didn't work either. Definitely something to do with the networking. I assume I am missing something on the port forwarding side, but who knows.

  9. Well, i forwarded every port from 1-50000, so dont think thats it

  10. Yep. Same here. I added every port that I could and it didn't make a difference lol.
[DOUBLEPOST=1443502597,1443458494][/DOUBLEPOST]This is actually really interesting. The server says the clients are connected. I can even get the ping, the time they have been connected, and their IP from typing status. That's really interesting.

  11. I helped Howard test the above since he couldn't use his client, and it appears that the client believes that it is not connected, and the server thinks the client is. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this phenomenon, that would be great!

  12. i have the same problem.
I think this is a texture in specific locations of any seed map

  13. same here

    any solution for this ?

  14. AFAIK We all tracked it down to our server hosting (Google cloud) in my case and never fixed it

  15. When this happens to me, I just restart the server and I'm good.

  16. Same issue here, after a few days i narrowed it down to my router/modem combined to a linux hosted server, but i suspect that there is more than one way to get stuck.
