Rust not showing all servers in list

Hello Guys,

first: Its not a problem with oxide, but i hate the facepunch forums. There are to many kids there.
I hope u guys can help me.

My Rust serverlist is working, but its not showing all online servers. There is no filter. Nothing. I have a own root server who is running a Rust Server, but i cant find it in the normal serverlist, even when i conncet via console to it, the server isnt listed in history. Each search i find about 90 offical servers, 503 Community, 631 Modded, after 5 mins of waiting.

The problem also exist on some other Servers (i have also a standard Rust-Gameserver) and i also have the problem to find it in Server list, (other host provider).

But my friends can find easily the server in the Rust-Serverlist?

I have an I7-4790K
and 32 GB RAM
Windows 7 Professional

The System runs with MBAM Premium (Malware Bytes Anti Malware) and Kaspersky at the same time. I am behind a router, with standard configuration. (there are no ports open, maybe thats the key?)

I have configured MBAM, Kaspersky and Windows Firewall and set there a expection for Rust.exe and Rust-Client.exe... i tried to close the programs and it didnt work.

Any ideas? Or ppl with same problem?

 

Make sure that your game and rcon port are open in the firewall.

 

Looking at the numbers it downloads you arent downloading all the servers, firewalls cut the connection maybe? In my list there are >1000 servers for both types. I think the problem is in your client not the server, especially if friends can see it in the list, so theres nothing wrong there. Try with firewalls off. There might be some options in your router firewall too that could mess the serverloading, but that differs per brand and modem and is very rare that it will be your router firewall. I think firewalls/av off on pc for a sec to test list download is best way to start (Presuming you are behind a firewalled router) to see if it matters. You are not on some crappy connection Wifi are you?

 

No WiFi, 50k cable internet, okay, i will try to open the port 28015-28016 on my router. But it is a bit weird, because i just get the half serverlist?!... never recognized, that there are REALLY? more than 600 modded servers. Never... i play since a half year, lol.

Now, i opened port 28015-28016 for my pc in router settings (also on windows firewall inc. and outgoing TCP/UDP). I closed Kaspersky and MBAM. And i still wont get more servers in list :-(

Edit: Now im trying to reinstall Rust.

it seems like that anything cuts my search. (Sometimes i just get 300-400 Servers) But i dunno what. :-(

Maybe a setting from the network card?

btw. if a friend is online on the server it will find the server instant in under friends ingame.

 

You didnt test with firewall really turned off as i can see it? Could you please test with firewall really turned off? Maybe you trigger some sort of behaviour based rule after so much connections, since first half of the list does load.

 

i deactivated the windows firewall and router firewall to test it..
problem still exists. :/

 

Strange, I didnt change anything at all and I have the same problem. Cant find my server (Hosted on dedicated) on the list, only connect to it with IP, but cant see it in history.

Nope, there is just nothing changed. Altrough I have found my server now, the list is not complete.

 

yep, i think this problem concerns several players, but most of the normal players cant recognize it.
Sometimes i can find my server, most times not, but the serverlist never going over 700 Modded-Servers, or more than 500 Community-Servers

 

I noticed that its very random. Some times I have the problem and some times not.

 

This just randomly happened to me i played rust yesterday and everything was fine.Today i go on and i only see about 60 official,50 community and about 20 modded.

 

My server too.

I see an update about Rust in Steam, maybe try to do this?
