  3. i only get a brown image :( (with 4000x4000)
    nvm i tried with 1000x1000 and it shows the map :) i love you :)
  4. Well, so far I tested it locally, with the latest dedicated server for windows. Map sizes larger than 4000 generate a brown image for me, too. This could be some sort of memory restriction or something.

    Try something smaller, maybe: map.export 1000

    And if that doesn't work either, check your server's seed and size and start a local server using these exact config values. The generated image is the same then.
  5. seems like i can't do over 3000x3000 or i get a brown image (dunno if it can help you)

    my worldsize is 3000x3000 ;)
  6. it says export complete but there is no png in the folder specified.
    update: i found it in the rust server directory rather then the rustdedicated_data folder.

  7. In this case, make sure to check your server's root folder, RustDedicated_Data and RustDedicated_Data\Managed.

  9. btw you should auto detect the map size so people can't try to make a map bigger then the map size. (for noobs like me that tried :p)
  10. The map size is automatically detected, the parameter is just the output image's size, regardless of map size. I changed the default to 1000 so that it should work for everyone when running without a parameter.

    and hve it update in real time so you could expot to website

    It'd be better to have a site built around the image rather than updating the image every millisecond.
  13. Updating the image is quite costly as it uses some sort of software renderer to generate the image (servers usually don't have GPUs). Hence, Wulf is correct, it would be better to add player locations and stuff in a post-processing step while reusing the same image every time.

  15. Install a rust server locally then, and use the same map size and seed to generate the image. The generated image is the same.

  17. This is of course possible, theoretically. Would require some knowledge of the inner unity/rust workings, though.
