Solved Permanent map

  1. Is there a way to keep everything that you have on your server permanent and safe from wipes (to include forced wipes)? I am speaking about structures/buildings. I would prefer to not have anything on my server wipe and don't want to have to deal with copy/pasting every single building. Please let me know what I can do.

  2. Just my opinion. But why need a plugin like this if you can just not wipe your server? Now this excludes forced wipes which i'm sure can be bypassed in some way, but of course this means some players will have texture issues if they update a part of terrain, or a monument, etc.

  3. Obviously i don't need to utilize that plugin all the time. However my rust server will be all mini games and arenas so whatever I build I wanna keep it. It wouldn't be like a regular rust server where I am copying/pasting 500+ structures. Would be a failsafe for forced wipes

  4. This is very possible to do, But at forced wipes im pretty sure that is when Garry has changed something with generating maps. Using the same seed/size may be a slightly different map and buildings would be pasted in weirdly.

  5. If the forced update doesnt change anything at the map generation and stuff, you just need to change the map name.

If you have a map named this: proceduralmap.3000.1173436566.134.sav
Just go ahead and change it to: proceduralmap.3000.1173436566.135.sav
after the update. (Increase the number in front of the .sav by one)

That only works if there hasn't been a map generation update (afaik - not sure tbh - could also work if there was a map generation update).
With that you can keep your old map on the new update.
