1. I have looked at other threads on this website and it seems to work for other people but it will not for me,
    what I would do is;
    1 run the server
    2 run the server in game
    3 close out rust and stop the server
    4 extract the oxide folders to the RustDedicated_Data and overwrite the files
    5 run the server again?

    The only problem now is the oxide folder does not show up like so in tutorials also the my_server_identity and _start-example .bat files are not there either. if anyone can help me or call out any mistakes I would greatly appreciate it.

    "root" implies where your RustDedicated.exe file is, also known as the "parent" directory or "main" directory. So once you have Oxide installed and the server has successfully started once, you'll see the "oxide" folder generated in the same location where RustDedicated.exe is.

  5. I'm afraid its not there i've tried about three times now and thank you for your time by the way

    Oxide is not installed and hasn't been started with the server then most likely. Make sure you aren't running any SteamCMD process when starting the server and also check if you have +oxide.directory set, as that would change the path to where the oxide folder is.
