1. I'm trying to understand how the game firewall on OVH operates. It literally says when you setup a rule "Outgoing port." I thought maybe that was a mistake because why would they filter outgoing ports. I put in 28015-28015 and surely enough I could not connect to my server. I ended up putting it as 1025-65535 which allows me to connect. I contacted OVH support just to double check and make sure I set it up correctly and they are telling me that I don't have it setup correctly and that the game firewall only filters incoming traffic... then how come I can't connect when setting it to 28015-28015 and also why does it say Outgoing port? They responded saying that it must be using additional ports to connect.. so I sent them a pcap showing its only using 28015 to connect and am waiting to hear back. Is the support person I'm talking to completely wrong or do I really not have this setup correctly?

  2. Check this out.

  3. That’s the regular firewall not the game firewall.

  4. As fasdgr showed you should allow two ports, 1 for server.port and 1 for rcon.port
I had the game firewall and was really easy to use it, I don't know about the regular one, but I think you have to make 2 different rules, 1 for each port.

  5. The image fasdgr posted is an image of the regular firewall. I already have everything setup and ports allowed. The game firewall is a second firewall that's strictly for UDP traffic.

fasdgr - you should add a rule at the end to refuse all traffic. You are allowing all traffic through the firewall currently.
