Solved Need clarification on how parent groups work

Lets say that I make a group called "beta" the parent of group "alpha". Questions:
1) Do all the permissions from beta get carried over to alpha?
2) Am I correct in the assumption that none of the permissions from alpha are copied into beta?
3) When I add permissions to the parent group "beta", will oxide update "alpha's" permissions as well?
