1. Hello,

    What's the highest entity count you guys have had without noticing massive lag spikes?

    Server Specs are :

    i7 4790k 4GHz
    32GB RAM

    We do weekly wipes on our Battlefield and I never like it go above 450,000, I have decided this week to stop using the entity clean up plugins that are outside cupboard range, After 2 days we are already on 250,000 so I was just curious how much you guys have pushed it.
     
  2. my x5 server crashed today with 350k Entities, so i decided to install that plugin. and i have the same specs for the dedicated server.

    i think the safest to go is 250k, but i try to get as low as possible.
     
  3. Well i've had no issues with 450k so far so I will keep trying to aim for that ;)
     
  4. @Nathan 3 what Plugins do you use to keep the entity's as low as possible?
     
  5. I used Purge and Block Remover, I would recommend testing this on a cloned backup server before putting it live.
     
  6. i tried the purge one, but it removed the bases on the active clans/friends aswell.
     
  7. You need to run it at the start of the server wipe, It will remove bases that have been taken over so its not always that great.
     
  8. The server mostly dont care about how much entitys. And i guess with 32gb you have alot room. But for the client it can be bad, long loading times on receiving data and worse fps. Shuttering and hard fps drops will be also the norm bc the client cant load all this entitys fast enough. On a 3k-4k map i would never go higher then 250k-350k performance for the client drops hard at this point. I can recommend this plugin Auto Purge for Rust | Oxide
