Is this ok server fps?

Hye guys , i have 55k entities on my server with 6 players online currently . My server fps goes between 180-220 staying at an average of 210. Is this ok server fps? i have 58 sleepers also , im not sure if this matters .

Everything over 100 should be fine. Under 30 fps server begin to lag hard.

Dosent matter how many slots or player. If the server cant handle you will have fps drops and the server will lag.

Does server fps get better on windows server 2008 compared to 2012? thanks.

 

If it's a dedicated server then it doesn't really matter.

If you are running your rust server on a virtual server (which I don't recommend for higher slot numbers) then you might go for 2008R2.

 

a $20/mo server will never outperform a $200/mo high end machine. But cudos friend, start low, then move up the ladder.

6 players and 60ish sleepers? You could run 100+ on a Streamline VPS easily.

If you want performance, buy a game server. That isn't optimized for gaming. You do you though

However think of it like this, you can find a $300 mic on eBay, and the same mic for $30 on Amazon. Does that mean the $300 one is better? Absolutely not!

EDIT: Some of those have 256GB+ of ram, which isn't really needed for rust.

 

You probably don't know what those server is used for.
Some person prefer/need to pay a big machine and divid it to host different games.
I never said a $300 machine have better performance than a $100 one.

Wasn't directed at you. Those servers aren't really used for game hosting, at least that isn't the intended use. They could be used for multiple servers, but looks like he is hosting one.
Looking at the CPUs, you can see they aren't really targeted towards gamers.

 

Hosting game servers is not all i use the server for , that is why i require it and yes , its from online.net
